Kai was drunk. There was no denying it. He had just said good bye to his old friend Ivy and was now stumbling back into Tiger territory. It wasn’t as late as he thought it was. It was only a little bit past midnight. It didn’t take him very long to get drunk. All he needed now as his bed and a good sleep. He needed to sober up before he saw Kaz. She would be pissed that he was drunk and probably start on him about how she hated it when he drank. That was the last thing he needed right now. The cool air was refreshing and he felt as though if he stayed out in it long enough it might sober him up a bit. But it wasn’t going to happen so there was no point in dawdling. Bed sounded good right now.
As he walked up the street he stopped out the front of Kaz’s house and sighed, he wished he wasn’t drunk just so he could go in and see her and make sure that she was safe. Lie next to her until she fell asleep. He sighed in disappointment as he knew she probably wouldn’t even let him in the door in the state that he was in. He shoved his hands into his pockets and started to walk off again. But within a few steps he had stopped again. Maybe she wouldn’t care that he had a little bit to drink tonight, he didn’t have that much. This was his brain trying to convince him that he was only tipsy and not plastered.
In the end his stupid drunken brain won and he found himself walking up her driveway and stopping in front of the door. He stood there for a few seconds not doing anything, when he remember that he had to knock, she wasn’t telepathic she couldn’t just sense that he was standing there. Even with that stupid thought he still didn’t even turn around and sleep it off. He raised his hand and knocked on the door a couple of times. Every thing was okay he wasn’t drunk just tipsy. This is what was running through his mind as he stood there swaying on the spot waiting for her to answer the door.

Kaz thought of the tigers as family, running them, was just making sure her family was okay and going to be okay. There was only one issue with having a family like her's. You couldn't leave family at the door when you came home. You couldn't just walk into your house, lock your door and ignore the ringing from your phone when someone needed your help or something was going down. She really couldn't leave her family only except for when she was sleeping, and even those few hours haunted her in some way. You couldn't leave family at the door, and you couldn't leave a tiger in a fight unchecked. Those were the rules her life seemed to be lived by these days, coming home today she'd had love to leave those rules too, but she couldn't.
Just like when her phone started to viberate off the hook with messangers, sharps, and hitters telling her somone was acting up at the club tonight she couldn't leave it alone. She didn't know if it was one of her men or someone looking to get into it, but she ordered everyone to be calm till she got there. Kaz had a talent for quick changes she put to use and ran out the door to go settle this stupid fight, she didn't need a fight right now. Fights meant assualt charges and cops, and her paitence to deal with cops these days was only growing shorter.
"Bye Kaz" a sweet messanger said to her as she left. The bouncer nodded at her in respect as she walked out the door, she winked at the guy he was cute she thought. She made her way home in the dark going quickly, not wasting any time out in the dark streets. She wouldn't admit it but they still scared her on some level that made her heart race and her feet carry her faster to her door. When she got to her house all she could think about was bed, a shower, and sleep, she was tired. She'd been dancing and dealing at the club, enjoying herself, tiring herself out while she hadn't heard word from her boyfriend. She wondered what that meant they'd told everyone and she was sure someone told him she was at the club but he hadn't come, as she got to her door, she blinked whispering "Speak of the devil." she moved closer to Kai, why was he on her door step. "Kai," she touched his shoulder, he was swaying and then she smelled it on him and her stomach turned. "Oh my god. Go home Walker," she said dissapointed and inside maybe a little disgusted.

Kai was lost in thought standing there well swaying there. He hated waiting, he couldn’t understand why she didn’t let him just let himself in, he had to ring the door bell or knock and wait to be let in. He was her boy friend he shouldn’t have to do that. It felt like forever before he heard someone behind him and touch his shoulder. He was brought racing back to reality when she had touched him and to be honest it scared the hell out of him. He was waiting for her to appear in front of him not behind him.
He jumped slightly and turned around to face her. He gave her a goofy smile and stumbled back a little bit. His smile didn’t last long as her words entered his ears. She had called him by his last name which she hadn’t done in a long time and she told him to go home. Frowning he held onto the wall for support and he struggled to find a come back. “What? Why? I’ve come to see you baby” he said holding back a hiccup. Being drunk he didn’t understand what was going and why she was telling him to go home. He felt a little angry, he wasn’t drunk what was her problem?

Clubs were hot by nature. They were warm, from the amount of bodys together, and the friction of dancing and touching. Even if you weren't touching somone you got warm. Kaz smiled she loved the heat the warmth the comfort of being around all of those people. Her people, even if they were making her warmer then she liked, as she left the club and started to run home. The warmth that was hugging her bare middrift started to let go of her and she started tugging on her sleeves to cover her hands. Summer was over and the city was starting to get colder in the night. It only made her want to rush home faster, seeing Kai there made her smile. While she was tired, and wanted to go to sleep and be in her own bed, she wouldn't mind some company tonight.
Kaz blinked when he jumped at her touching him. He didn't hear her? She bit her lip, that wasn't like him what was up with him? Then she smelled it, and her stomach twisted into knots. She felt her shoulders slump and then tighten as she watched him. Slumping as a dissapointed girlfriend, and tightened as she went to be his leader who was pissed at him drinking and not being at the fight tonight she could have used the help. When you in the tigers you were known by your last name to Kaz unless you were close, her calling him Walker was like calling him fuckface. She rolled her eyes and shoved past him, she was to tired to deal with him, it was dark and she was cold. She got past him and got to her door, and turned to look at him as she stuck the keys in the door. "I don't care what you do when you drunk Kai" she said looking at him angry, pissed, written all over her. "You missed the fight and you show up at my door drunk. Whats your problem?" she turned the key.

Kai stepped back as she pushed her way past him. He was frowning now, she was being a bitch to him. What did he do, nothing. He was just coming over to see her and spend a little quality time with her and she was going all banshee on him. He rested his hand against the wall next to the front door, he was taller then she was so it was like he was leaning over her. When she spoke to him her words confused the hell out of him. He didn’t know what she was talking about, for one he wasn’t drunk and second he wasn’t told about any fight so how could he miss it if he didn’t know about it? All this thinking was making his head hurt and his head hurting made him angrier. “What are you on about, I’m not drunk” he said swaying over her more. To him he wasn’t drunk he was just happy. He hadn’t had a drink in a long time so he just thought he was tipsy. There was nothing wrong with being a bit tipsy, was there? “What fight I didn’t know about any fight” he said reaching into his back pocket with his free hand and pulled out his phone. He squinted as the bright light from the screen hurt his eyes. He had two missed calls and a few texts on there. Before he could open any of it to read them he dropped his phone and it smashed into a million pieces on the pavement.

Kaz liked talled guys, it was something she liked about Kai. He was much taller then her, and she'd always found comfort in that before but now that he was standing over her, towering over her she didn't like it so much. He spoke, and it took something in her to not gag at the stench from his breath. "God Kai how much have you been drinking," Kaz didn't drink. Never more then a few sips if she did drink. He'd had way more then that by the stench. She sighed when he broke his phone, she closed her eyes, and covered them with her hand. She didn't have the energy to deal with this bullshit. "Two hitters got into it at the club, I had to get into the middle of it," that should have been his job. "Jess had me stick around for a while, so now I'm tired, sore, and your drunk." She opened her door and grabbed him pulling him inside and basically throwing him at her couch. If he couldn't pull his phone out without breaking it, she wasn't going to trust him to walk his ass home. "I'll call Rider to give you a lift home," she said pulling out her phone from her pocket turning her back to him. Her shoulders were stressed, she was stressed. She loved her gang, and she loved Kai, but drinking messed with her. He wasn't a smart drunk, she put her phone down and turned to look at him, "Who were you even drinking with?" most everyone knew not to let him get this wasted that he was swaying.

Kai rubbed his eyes as they were starting to sting. It was the only thing that he hated about been drunk, his eyes went dry and he rubbed them making them sting. The next morning it looked at though had spent the whole night crying like a bitch, they went all red and puffy. He couldn’t remember how much he had to drink, a fair bit by the looks of him he couldn’t even stand up with holding onto something. He shrugged his shoulders at her question as he honestly couldn’t tell her. “A bit, I guess" he said slurring his words a bit. She then started to explain about the fight he had missed. He felt a ping of guilt run through his body as it should have been him that got in the middle of the fight, not her. The guilt was replaced with more anger, every little thing made him angry when he was drunk. He was annoyed at Kaz for acting the way she was then on top of that he was angry at himself for not been there when she needed him, he was all kinds of fucked up. He just felt like slamming his fist through the brick wall. But he didn’t be restrained himself for now but he wasn’t sure for how long he was going to be able to keep his cool. “Sorry” he mumbled.
She then told him that Jess made her stick around for a while and he frowned. Where was the fight exactly and who was there? All these thoughts ran through his head and he finally noticed the clothing she had on and he could only think that she was a club and every man and his dog had their hands all over her. He didn’t have time to think much on it as she pulled him inside her house. He stumbled a bit but collapsed onto the couch. At least he had something soft to land on. He closed his eyes as the couch was comfortable and he instantly felt sleep coming. Her words of getting someone to drive him home however washed all of his thoughts of sleep away and his eyes flicked open. He didn’t want to go home. He wanted to stay here, but clearly she didn’t want him he, fair enough. “No, I’ll just walk” he said pulling himself up into a lopsided sitting position and looked around the room. He found her standing behind the couch putting down her phone. He went to stand up but ended up just falling back down again. He went to open his mouth again to protest getting someone to come out and get him, but he was cut short by the deal breaking question.
Before he even let his brain think about the question the words came tumbling out of his mouth. “Funny story” he said finally finding his feet and standing he still held the couch just in case he decided to hit the deck. “I was at the Broken Record and Ivy showed up” he said rubbing his forehead trying to think about the rest of the story. It had only happened a few hours ago and it was already starting to become hazy.

She looked at Kai, he couldn't even stand and he wanted to walk his ass home. If he was anyone else she would have let him, but it was Kai and she didn't want to let out of her sight, he might do something, trash something, or hurt himself. She sighed, and shook her head, she wasn't happy about having to deal with this. She wanted to come home, shower eat sleep, relax from the club. While it'd been fun at the club it was still work, she never got to go out and relax. She was always being watched as the leader she had to. Still the club was fun, she'd danced around a lot, it felt good to work her muscles like that, dancing was more fluid than fighting, it was different muscles. She didn't say anything, she was calming down, maybe he could just crash on her couch, then he said that. Ice spilled down her viens, she was awake and shocked.
"You got shit faced with Ivy?" she said looking at him. How could he do that? To the tigers? To her? "Get out Kai" her mind took off thinking about him and Ivy together. What if, she felt sick. Broken record wasn't there territory, it was a dance club, he'd been to a dance club with someone who she was sworn to hate. She'd sent someone after him, and he didn't even care. She staid there standing looking at him while her stomach dropped. "Get your ass out of my fucking house right now or I swear to god Kai Walker. I will come down on your like the hand of god. She was furious. He'd been in a club with another woman, gotten drunk with her, she didn't even want to think about what else he'd done. "Your a goddamn pig. and I don't want Ivy's sloppy seconds." she'd call someone else if she needed to have him carried out of here. She wanted him gone.

Her words entered his ears and all thought of trying to remember the rest of the story was gone. Well she hadn’t found the story funny at all. “I wouldn’t say I got shit face and it wasn’t planned” he said clutching the couch for support and to stop him from slamming his fist through the dry wall. He was really angry now, he really wasn’t expecting her to act this way. If he was sober he would have been full prepared to have his ear blasted off about how much of an asshole he was for even speaking to Ivy, but him being drunk he didn’t think there was anything wrong with having a drink with Ivy, after all they were old friends after all. She then told him to get out and he didn’t move he didn’t say a word, his jaw was clenched shut, if it was closed any harder his teeth would shatter, the muscle in his jaw was having a big of a twitch as well.
She then started to yell at him, telling him to leave or she would make him leave. Which he didn’t doubt she was pretty strong, but he wasn’t ready to leave yet, he wanted her to tell him what the problem was it wasn’t like they fucked or anything, it was just drinks and conversation. “Kaz calm down” he said his voice wasn’t raised it was calm even though his body was twitching with rage. You didn’t yell at Kai went he was drunk because he went psycho, the feeling of being drunk was gone and it was replaced by anger. Alcohol fuelled rage. If he hadn’t been drinking he wouldn’t have been angry, so even though he didn’t feel drunk anymore the booze was making him angry. She didn’t calm down even though he had asked her nicely, she kept going with the yelling and she even through in a nasty name which wasn’t helping him keep his cool. The last thing she said was it, it pushed him over the edge and he was the one yelling now.
“Do you think we fucked?” he yelled at her from across the couch, he was so angry now he could feel his whole body burning. Not wanting to do what he did but he couldn’t help himself he walked over to the wall and slammed his fist straight through the dry wall. It didn’t stop there though. He pulled his hand out of the wall and turned around to look at her. He kicked a chair across the room and he advanced on her. He stopped a few feet away from her. “We just talked, innocent conversation” he yelled balling his fists.

Kai looked at her, and told her to calm down. That was possibly the worst thing Kai had ever told her to do. Her fist started to come together, she squeezed her nails into her palms. It hurt on some level, but of course she didn't say anything about the pain in her hands as she yelled at him. He was being a prick in her eyes, she couldn't believe he'd shown up at her door drunk after seeing Ivy. She couldn't believe him, why would Kai do this to her? Of course he'd just been with Ivy. It was Ivy.
She roared mentally when he asked her that. Of course you'd fuck her you flithy animal. You come to my door, drunk, after being with another woman, and trash my house. What the hell is wrong with you fuckface? it was the hurt and shock from him being with Ivy and not with her when she needed him talking. The anger that he was drunk, and of course, that unspoken rule between them, he didn't come near her when he was drunk. Drunks were the one thing that Kaz avoided, she didn't go near them, in everyone of them, she could smell the men, and see them, the one's who'd attacked her, and with the way Kai was acting he was no better then them. "I want you out of my house, and if you want Ivy's pussy so bad out of my gang." she stood her ground, she didn't back off when he came close. Didn't flinch at anything he did, just stood there, arms at her sides, eyes set, she looked ready for a fight, rather then in her own home with her lover.

His eyes narrowed as she went on yelling accusing him of doing something he knew for a fact he didn’t do, he might not remember something of the night but he never forgot when and who he got his fuck on with, no matter how drunk he was. “What the hell is wrong with me? What they hell is wrong with you? Listen to yourself!” he yelled at her, she as carrying on like a crazy person. She didn’t have any proof she was only going on by assuming things and that annoyed the absolute crap out of him. He hated being accused for things he didn’t do and cheating was high up on the list of annoying things to get accused of. He had never cheated on Kaz, even when they weren’t together and he was chasing her did he not have sex with anyone else. He might be jealous and an angry and violent drunk but he wasn’t a cheater.
She then told him to get out again and that if he wanted Ivy then he was out of the gang. Was she kicking him out of the gang? No he wouldn’t let her, his anger was boiling over now, he was just so frustrated with her, why couldn’t she just understand that nothing happened, between him and Ivy. He just wanted her to understand. “I didn’t fuck her” he yelled and with out thinking lifted his hand brought the back of his hand down across the side of Kaz’s face. Pain shot through his hand and then through his heart. He stepped back from Kaz and his jaw fell open. What had he done, how could he do that to her? He looked at the back of his hand and watched as the skin started to turn red, christ how hard his he hit her? He looked up at Kaz.

She hated yelling, hated it with everything in her. Every fiber of Kaz that had ever been and ever would be hated to yell and to raise her voice. She'd rather be moving, and fighting then moving around. She'd grown up and taught herself somewhere along the way that she could take a punch without blinking. She could handle being hurt, but yelling, yelling she couldn't stand. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me, was a load of shit. Words hurt a lot more, and you couldn't see where they hurt you, you never knew when they weren't going to hurt anymore, but with a hit it just was and when it healed it was done. She'd never had the chance to test it though, not until now.
Her mind didn't listen to his yelling anymore, she was tired and just wanted to go to bed, she was close to tears. She hurt all over her body, then it was just in her face that she hurt. The hit sent her stummbling back, she fell into the back of the wall, her eyes wide open like a deer cught in the headlights. She didn't say anything, she just sat there for a moment, the impact of the smack, rang threwout her body, until she looked at Kai. She touched the skin, it stung, like she'd been burned, it stung hot, and painful. Tears cascaded down her face. She'd been beat once in her life, on that night with those men, and now in her eyes Kai was no better then them. She stummbled pulling herself up, her chest hurt, her heart sputtering out posion, that made her whole body want to stop from the pain of this encounter. 'Get out." she said under her breath looking at him. She got to her feet and repeated the words, "Get Out. she pointed at her door, and doubled over as she screamed as loud as she could "GET OUT!" it wasn't a yell it was a scream. More scream then words, as she shook all over, she didn't notice the tears down her face, except the way they cooled where the burning on her cheek was and it stung when they where gone.

Kai’s mind had gone blank, all the talk about never hitting woman never disrespecting them in such a way what would his mother think if him now. Sure he had been in fights with woman but he had won those fights not with punching the shit out of them but over powering them. Not matter how strong a woman is, there is always the big chance that he is going to be stronger. Now he had gone back on his own word and he had hit a woman. The woman. The woman that he cared about more then anything else in the world, the woman he would die for, was now crying and screaming at him to get out of his house. He felt sick, he felt as though someone had just stuck a knife into his belly and started twisting it, god only knows he deserved that right now. He looked up to Kaz and he could see the bruise starting to form already around her eye and the dark red welts on her cheek from his fingers. She was screaming and crying for him to get out. “Kaz, please” he said tears starting to well up in his own eyes. “Please, I’m so sorry” he said the tears spilling out onto his cheeks. He took a step closer to her his hand up in front of him as in surrender.

It was like an earthquake, when your legs feel like jelly and your not sure if you can stand still for much longer. She felt like that times a hundred, with everything else just shaking her and making her feel sick. She was sick with the feeling of pain throbbing from her face. Kai came closer and she did to, she stood up and started to pound on his chest, screaming with every hit, "Out, out out" she didn't fight like the strong warrior she knew she could fight as she stood there pounding on his chest, like he would dissapear from before her if she did it enough. "Don't you dare ever touch me again." fighting in the ring and hitting her like that, they were different. She'd seen women get beat before she wouldn't be one of those woman, she wouldn't let him beat her. Kai had broken that bound between them, there was a rule they left the fight in the ring, they never hit like tht but he;d hurt her, and she coldn't get a grip on it. "Your dead to me Walker, leave she was shaking as she backed away from him.

Kai closed his eyes as she started to pound against his chest, he didn’t fight back he didn’t try to stop her. He would let her beat the shit out of him if she wanted to, he deserved it. He listened to her scream, saying that he wasn’t to touch her any more and his heart ached like someone had just punched straight through his chest and was squeezing it. Even with his eyes closed tears were still pouring out and running down his cheeks. He never cried and when he did it was for a good reason, turns out slapping the woman you love and having her tell you that he wasn’t allowed to touch her ever again was good enough to shed tears. Even when his mother died he still didn’t cry.
Soon the pounding on his chest stopped and he took a breath he didn’t want to open his eyes didn’t didn’t want to see what he had done to her, he had bruised her face made her cry and scream. He was scum. The next thing she said made his eyes flash open, he looked at her and saw that she meant it. His hands went to his face and sobbed into them. He done the deed now it was over he just knew it. There would be not trying to talk to her tonight, not now. He had fucked up big time. He took his hands away from his face and looked Kaz in the eye. “I love you, Kaz” he said before turning around and walking straight out her door. He closed it behind him and looked down at the shattered pieces of his phone on her porch. Just like his heart.
He bent down and picked up his sim card and slipped it into his pocket. He turned around to face her door again and put his hand over the handle. He was thinking that he should go back in and calm her down and try and fix things. But he took his hand away from the handle and sighed, he would have to let her cool down on her own, give her a couple of days. He knew Kaz and when she was upset and hating your guts, you just gotta leave her alone. He turned back around and walked away from her house. He walked alone the street more silent tears falling down his face. He had really fucked up this time. He didn’t deserve her.
