Ivy had texted Oliver and told him to meet her at Woman in Black. It was a friday night, and maybe he would have plans, but knowing him--he would drop them for her. Granted, now he sort of had to since she was leader but she specified that she needed him in a friendly context. This Leader thing was tougher than she anticipated. At least, mentally. She could handle making decisions, and the checking up on things, and people liked her well enough. But could anyone, especially young men, take her seriously?
Ivy knew she was beautiful, she knew how to use it to win a lover, a friend, but she was scared that it would make her time as leader, and perhaps time of life, brief. She was good for the gang, they had picked her, but she still worried. And Leaders couldn't show their subjects their fear or worry. Not ever. Which wouldn't be too difficult, Ivy was starting to feel like a liar. She hid things from her father, she could do this too.
Either way though, she needed a friend. Oliver had followed her around growing up, in awe of her and thankful to her for saving his ass on many occasions. They had been runners together for several years and she missed not seeing him everyday. He was a constant in her life. One that she enjoyed.
Ivy was dressed in a black dress, green heels and jewelry to flaunt her alliance. The Leader tattoos of a snake curled around her upper arm felt like a neon sign to her. Too big, too obvious. The roman numerals indicating she was the fourteenth Leader the Snakes had ever had. Some had lived so long, some died so young... either way, the Snakes were about as old as the city itself.

Today was just a normal day, he had stayed at home, listened to his parents argue about silly things then make lovey eyes afterword, it made him gag sometimes. But he loved his parents anyway, Oliver had long since gotten use to his parents being so lovey dovey. Guess that came with being together for God knows how many years, you just got so attached to them, that they became a part of you as well as you became part of them.
He soon got sick of watching them though, Calvin was out with some of his friends, doing whatever he does with them. Probably just going to eat Taco Bell and see movies and play in the arcade. 'Lucky.' He thought to himself and now found himself staring into a Bible in his room on his desk. They didn't own a computer, at least, he didn't think they did. So he spent the time at his house reading books, and the Bible was one of them. He wasn't overly religious, but he did believe there had to be some kind of power up there. Made him feel better to think his Grandparents were still together in Heaven, rather than just them being dead.
Shoving the Bible away from after an hour or so of reading, he Oliver was about to go take a shower, he was still in his jamies since he didn't really need to do anything today. He had the day off from his small part time job as a cook at Freeman, that old guy that worked there was a pain in the ass, but he enjoyed watching his daughter frill around the place. She was a babe, all older women were, and him being just 19, he had a lot of options which made him happy.
Anyways. He was about to hit the shower because he felt like he should do something, he hated wasting time, but he honestly didn't know what to do today, when he heard his phone ring. It was a normal ring, not anything special, he shoved himself away from his desk and walked over to his bed where it laid on his made bed. It was a text Ivy! He jumped at the bed and opened it up with bated breath, she wanted to see him? Sweeeet! He texted her back on the dot,
'Thank the holy lord Himself! I was so bored I had no idea what to do with myself, let me take a shower and I'll be there in a jiff. Can't wait to see you Leader. ;]'
Is what he sent to her, and when he ran to the bathroom to take his shower his Father was in there. Pounding on the door saying that he'd better hurry his ass up, his Father just yelled back saying he'd better watch his fucking mouth. They both just laughed, he rolled his eyes when he heard his Mother say almost the exact same thing to them but with more profanity. His parents were laid back about things like this, as long as it was in a playful context. Finally his old man came out and he dashed in, complaining loudly about the smell.
He took a short quick shower, and put on just a little axe after he dressed in his favorite worn jeans, green converse, green shirt and a black jacket. He threw the axe in his black bag, along with several other things, as a Runner he had to be prepared for anything. Ivy taught him that on more than a few occasions by saving his sorry ass.
He ran out after getting ready, yelling to his parents that he was heading out to meet up with Ivy. They teased him saying how he was going to see his girlfriend, he just blushed slightly and told them to shut up before he slammed the door to their laughter. He sighed, and rolled his shoulders before he started to run to Woman in Black,
When he got there, Oliver only had to scout out once to see his best friend. She looked pretty damn sexy, for being a girl. He smiled and snuck up on her, her back was to him, when he got close enough he threw his arm around her shoulders and said pretty loudly. "Heeeey there purdy 'lil lady, does your Daddy know yer here?" he said in a cheesy southern accent, he didn't know why he did that, whenever he was around her he always felt the need to smile and just be happy.

Ivy had her delicate fingers wrapped around the stem of a martini when he showed up. It was strange how she knew it was him as he slid his arm over her shoulder and spoke in a dumb accent. His touch was so familiar, as it probably should have been, but her sense never ceased to amaze her. "You know perfectly well that my dad thinks I'm working in a law firm." her stupid ex-lawyer judge of a father... It made her personal life so complicated as she strove to keep her two words separate.
She motioned to the seat beside her and took a sip of her drink. "Is that a murse?" She asked, a laugh bubbling gently from her lips as she eyed his bag. Oliver was a funny kid, did a lot of reading, the Bible of all things, and honestly never seemed the gang type, but Ivy was glad to be his friend. Sometimes though she figured he was better without her.
Ivy tucked some loose blonde hair behind her ear and looked at him lightly, not sure if she should launch into everything that worried her or pretend to be in control, like she was supposed to be now. her eyes drifted to her new tattoo. She needed another sip of alcohol...

"Of course, of course, because you'd be the most awesome lawyer huh?" he asked her with a slight teasing tone, and he gave her a wink. "But hey, whatever, you know?" Oliver knew how much of a tight butt her father could be, he'd met the man a few times, didn't seem like he liked him. But he couldn't say the same for him either, the guy was like...too perfect. He was rich, had a lovely daughter who was both tough and smart, and he just expected waaay too much of her at the young age of 23. Sighing he took his seat next to her, and was taking off his backpack when he made a snide comment about it.
Oliver just snorted through his nose and gave her a little look, "Oi, don't be making fun of my murse, it comes in handy!" he told her with a little smile on his face, when he saw the bartender he ordered a tall glass of Black Magic, man he loved that stuff. It was like the God of all drinks, well, not really, as long as the drink had vodka he'd say anything was the God of drinks. Once he ordered he looked over at Ivy, something seemed a little off. Maybe it was just him, but he didn't think so. He'd been with her for so long now, he ran his hand through his black hair and smiled, "Besides Miss Ivy, I gotta be extra prepared now, my murse carries all that I need, that and now that fact you ain't my partner no more." he gave her a slight punch to the arm, the one with the tattoo, "'Cause you just had to get yourself promoted Leader now huh?" he figured this was why he was invited to hang out with her.
Knowing her, she was probably worried people wouldn't take her seriously since she was the first chick Leader for the Snakes for quite a few generations...three or four of them at least. So as he got his drink, he took a quick chug before he leaned against the bar with his elbow waiting for Ivy to rant his ear off for him. Not that he minded, he never minded whatever Ivy did to him. He was going to be the one to follow her to the end, no matter what she did, or no matter how many people thought she wasn't a good leader. He'd just defend her, and if things got too rough...he'd just have to fight. Though the idea just made him cringe, he just wasn't a fighter like Ivy...this thought always irked him.

Ivy laughed and stirred her martini a little, her nervous habit was moving more than was necessary. Being a runner meant you knew when to be still, when to hide and when to bust through things. It had trained her already wonderful self- control. "I'm not making fun of you having one, its just.... couldn't you get like a manly backpack and not like a giant girl purse?" She teased lightly. Honestly, she always teased him about things like this, but when he punched her in the arm she realized that now her friends would influence how she seemed as a leader.
"I didn't get myself promoted, I was picked... elected, if you will," Ivy corrected. She had been surprised when it happened and it all seemed unreal but the first few weeks and months really proved what kind of leader you were going to be. "Honestly, I'm scared," She said, her voice dropping. "I mean, I know the Snakes have had female leaders before, I'm glad equality is alive and well I just... well... I don't think people will respect me because I'm beautiful. Anyone who knows me now, knows I'm tough and smart and can handle this, but new recruits? Whats going to keep them from thinking I'm a bimbo and that they should join the Tigers?"
Ivy sighed and took a rather large sip of her martini, feeling the alcohol slide down her throat. She didn't want to have no friends and no love life just because she was in charge. But she was worried about how she looked at the top of the food chain. Kaz would eat her alive, but they had history, that might help fan the flames between the gangs in any case.

Oh boy, this wasn't going to get let down any time soon, Oliver could feel that much. He just sighed overly dramatic and looked at her with a serious eye, "Hey, the guy looked so sexy in the ad for this bag, that I just HAD to get it...okay?" he kept that serious face for about .35 seconds before he just blew out into a grin, he couldn't keep a straight face, he just chuckled and waved her off. "My murse is awesome, leave me alone, beside Mother said I was cool looking." he nodded at this said fact, he wasn't a Mama boys, but he just felt like he had to say that, to cheer up the mood.
Here it was, what he was aiming for when he punched her in the arm and told her that had gotten promoted. This is what drove her to text him, saying that she needed him, she just needed a friend who was there for her, to lend an ear. And that was what he was, if anything at all, he just nodded along with her, in till he figured it was a good time to put in his two cents. "You shouldn't be scared Ives, the newbies will learn, the older Snakes will make sure that those noobs respect you. I mean, you had to be elected to be a Leader because you were able to do it right? If anything those new Snakes should know right off the back, it doesn't matter how our Leader should look. Even if she was the most ugly person in the world, but had the respect of all her followers...hey that's saying something." he paused there to take another chug of his drink, the burning felt nice down his throat.
"And hey, listen, I know you. You're probably worrying over this and that, and making things more complex than they really are. You know, for being a smart as you are. You can be pretty dumb." he joked at her, "Just be yourself, but be firm when you have to, be gentle if when you need to. Leader's are not to be messed with, and if someone does try and hurt you, you got the whole dysfunctional family ready to back you up at a moments notice. Sort of like a Standing Army. So please girl, just relax, the first few months will be hell, but come on, after that it'll be easy sailing. Hopefully at least." he chugged down the rest of his tall glass and asked for another one with a little more lemon in it, and he turned back to Ivy with a scowl on his face.
"And hey! What you said about being beautiful? Why in the lords name would you be worried about that? God dammit, if anything this'll help you. Use your sexy body to your advantage, seduce all those men who think your nothing but a bimbo, but when those bastards think they got you, POW right in the kisser!" he demonstrated this by upper cutting the air, "And then please let me use them as test subjects for the High School Boxing Team?! I'm sure Father would enjoy to have new bodies to practice on for his team, and Eddie, that's the new captain, is just as sadistic as Father so it'd be like a whole new level of torture. Then that person would warn his friends not to mess with you, it's all one big circle of messed up life." he ended his speech with small fist banging on the bar and he laid his head down on the cool marble, "God damn I'm out of breath," he said with a slight smirk. He normally didn't speak this much, sure he was a talker, but not to this extent.

Ivy found herself laughing. Oliver was such a good guy, a good friend. Ivy just let her thoughts spiral and she needed a rock to keep all the balloons on the ground. Oliver was the rock, or at least, he always set one down for her. She leaned over and kissed his cheek. "You're a good kid Ollie." Ivy said with a little smile.
He was right, many people knew how to use beauty, she sure did, but she would make sure she was respected. Even if that meant over compensating a bit. But he was right, they'd picked her for this spot, they wanted her here.
"And for the record, the murse and your mother thinking its cool is not gonna fly with the ladies." Ivy said semi seriously, the joke in her tone of voice but the sentiment was true. Poor kid deserved a woman in his life. "Oh I forgot, you're into Cougars right? They probably don't care." She chuckled and had another sip of her martini. It sort of amused her that he was into older women.

Whoa! Did she just kiss him on the cheek? Yeah, she just fucking kissed him on the cheek...huh. Oliver blushed slightly, both at what she did to him and the fact that she called him Ollie. He hated that name, nickname, it made him sound so immature, and when you looked at it on paper it made him seem oily...or something like that. It just didn't seem right to him, but he was tolerant when Ivy used it on him. He didn't mind her using it, it sounded almost natural when she said it. He just cleared his throat and nodded, "Well duh I'm a good kid! ...wait! Hey, hey I'm no kid no more, I'm 19. Jeez." he winked at her, and took a sip from his Black Magic.
Oh great, the murse thing again. Oliver just shrugged his broad shoulders and looked down at his murse that was laying on the floor next to the stool. It was pretty damn sexy, he thought so at least, and it was made of leather! Leather was sexy. He busted up laughing when she said he was into Cougars and he was like that for a good minute or so. "Oh helll yeah I'm into them, they're so sexy! I mean, they are just more mature, both mentally and physically if you get my drift." he winked at her, and made a content noise from his throat. "Whats not to like in older women? The younger though, ick, they're...nasty. They're so fake, and so...blah. No, no, I don't even like to think about it. Eeew, I don't even like girls my own age, they are still so...hoochey! They say 'I love you!' in three days tops in a relationship, and they always want to use up your time, they are very clingy and just...they are not-" he stopped there and blushed a little more, though he covered it up when he downed the rest of his beverage.
He didn't know why, but he was about to say: "...they are not 'like you.'" That freaked him out, he didn't know where that even came from! She was his sister dammit, and beside, she'd never look at him like that. All she'd remember was that he was the kid who always cried when he got a boo-boo or that he was always the one kid who basically stalked her. Yeah. Oliver slumped down now, and retched those thoughts out of his mind, it was crazy thinking! He's usually a good drinker, not a light weight, but tonight? Man. He already felt the buzz from just two tall glasses. "Mah, anyway, enough of my fetishes. How are you, 'sides the whole Leader thing? That tat is actually pretty hot." he teased her while looked at her arm, it was beautifully done.

Ivy laughed. "Yeah but older woman just want cha for you stamina," Ivy said doing the pelvic thrust in her seat. Women wanted boys who could keep up and boys wanted women who knew all the right moves. "And are probably married." She just didn't see anything hot about dating 30 and 40 year olds. Ivy didn't like older men, that gray hair thing and money wasn't a turn on for her. If she wanted that, she'd just go argue with her dad.
"And to me you're a kid. Would you rather I called you 'Junior'?" She teased lightly, taking a generous sip of her martini. He didn't look like a kid anymore, he looked like a man. Those cougars were getting what they wanted, that was for sure.
"I do resent that thing about young women though, I mean, teens, I'll give you, but I really don't want to be classified as old on this spectrum, unless I'm just too cool for your scale." Ivy said, blushing a little as he said her tattoo was hot. It did sort of give her an edge.
"I'm alright... I haven't been thinking of much else besides my new title." It was kind of overwhelming.

What the hell did she just say? "Ohnonono! Not THAT old, oh God, that's disgusting." he laughed again, this time tears came out of his eyes and what made it all the more funnier was that Ivy had done a pelvic thrust as well. "Ahaha, not that I mind being used like that, but I'm not THAT into Cougars. I meant older women that were still in their late twenties or so, ya know, just a few years older than me, not so old that they're married and have kids. Dude, I'd feel so guilty about having an affair with a married woman." he calmed down and shook his head, a permanent smirk on his face now. He couldn't believe that Ivy thought he was into that kind of old women, he knew what Cougar meant, but he thought she'd been joking with him by using that phrase, in all honesty he thought she knew what kind of women he was into. Guess not. Ah well.
"Yeeeah no, kid is alright now." he laughed a little now, and began to munch on the lemons that came with his drink. He loved sour things, so yummy. He began to choke on his lemon though when she said she didn't want to be in his radar of older women. When he finished not dying Oliver looked at Ivy and shook his head, "Damn girl, if anything you'd be on my Top Ten of woman to hit on if I didn't know you so well, that and if I knew you wouldn't beat me up for trying." he teased, and then with an actual serious face told her. "And hunny, you ain't that old. 23, is a fine, ripe time of age. Though, the mighty 25/6 is an even better age, though depending on the woman, 32 is even finer, in my eyes at least." he chuckled and began to suck on his lemon again. He had another one, the first one was set aside, he didn't want to choke on the same lemon. That'd be so embarrassing.
Heh. Her blush was cute. Oliver took the lemon out of his mouth and gave her a look, "Really? You haven't thought of anything else but being Leader? Oh jeez, no wonder you wanted to hang out with me." he joked, and patted her back, "C'mon, ya gotta be relaxed, nobodies wants a stressed out Leader, and stress can kill someone at a pretty young age. It'd kill me if you died, so please, try not too m'kay?" he asked, then gave her a big nice smile.

Ivy laughed. "Women in their twenties don't count as cougars." At least, not to her they didn't... But she smiled a little, "A married woman? Very nice." She nodded smoothly with a little wink, giving him a soft slug to the shoulder.
"Top ten? Really? I'm flattered." Ivy hadn't ever really considered their ages in terms of his likes. She had always been aware of his young age, and how she did date men a little younger than herself, as long as they were mature beyond their years. Ivy was a sophisticated woman, and in the gang world, it was hard to balance. "You know, whoever you end up with, is lucky because you're just gonna perpetually think their hot."
Ivy finished her martini and flagged the bar tender. "Two shots of whiskey down here." She said pointing to herself and Oliver. They always had whisky when something big happened, it was a matter of tradition.
She turned to Oliver, her golden hair falling across her shoulders, revealing her collarbone. "Just cause I'm Leader, don't think we won't still keep our traditions." He was really one of the only true friends she had in this world.

"That's what you think, I knew a chick that called herself a Cougar just because she was just...two years? Older than her fiance, yeeeah, least I have standards! They must be at least four years," he laughed and nodded, "Yes married," then when she slugged him the shoulder he gasped and gripped his shoulder, wincing in pain. "Oh jeez, your much too strong She-Hulk!" he exclaimed over dramatically, and laughed a little when he let go, rolling his shoulder just out of habit.
So, that's what she thought of him huh? Rude! "Hey, hey, you should flattered by the way, you've been up there since I fist saw ya down a boyfriend of yours. Douchebag. Anyway, and that's sooo not true, you think I'm that shallow? There are some, uh, unattractive older women, um, I do have turn offs. Like for example...hm...what's one that you'd understand? I hate smokers, that's a huge turn off, women who actually use their body to their advantage just to fuck with other people, I actually don't like...overweight people, thanks to my parents being all healthy nuts ya know? Um, yeah, just in general chicks who don't take care of their womanly figure or their mental state." he shook their heads, he couldn't understand how someone could do that themselves, just let their body get so out of control like that, sure drinking is bad, but he wasn't an alcoholic. And he never did drink to escape from something, he liked stability, that was almost the only thing he looked for in a woman. He hated flaky.
"Heh, I'm all up for that girl!" he laughed and slapped his hand down on the bar, he loved their tradition, he wasn't much of a whiskey person. But it was enjoyable when you had someone with you, and beside, tradition was tradition! He glanced at her, her neck showing quiet beautifully in the light, he looked away quickly and blushed slightly, then he looked back at her and smiled. "I'm always here for you, just remember that." he said to her, with a sincere and happy tone in his voice...and a little slurr, but what would you expect from someone who was drinking?

"No guy likes 'em fat and dumb. I was making a generalization." She smiled and shook her head gently. He took things so seriously. He was far too sweet to be part of a gang, but she was glad to have him. Sometimes Ivy wondered if she would have really lost her humanity in this job without him.
Ivy laughed a little and started singing Fergie, "Cause I'm up in the gym just working on my fitness, he's my witness." Ivy always started to sing when she was getting tipsy. When the shots arrived, she clinked it to his.
"To new beginnings and hot chicks." she winked a little and tossed it back. Whiskey burned. Her father loved it, not as a shot of course, she loved twisting his traditions to make her own. Made them more fun.
"How could I forget you? You're like my shadow. Only Peter Pan looses his shadow." Ivy never had to double think about Oliver. She knew he was always there for her.

"Jeez, make me feel like a terrible human being." he teased, and he rolled his eyes before they settled back on his empty glass. The little beads of water rolling down from the top and toward the marble bar. He quickly grabbed a coaster and put the glass on top of it, he also hated water rings, it stained wood. Not that the bar was wood, but it was still annoying when you put your hand down and you feel a wet spot.
He laughed softly as she started singing and when she finished that few lines, he continued them; "Ooh wee! And he be lining down the block just to watch what I got. I put yo' boy on rock, rock, and he be lining down the block just to watch what I got. So delicious!" he ended it at that point, he might be a little buzzed, but that didn't mean he wanted anybody to think he was singing about boys and how he wanted them to see what he got.
"Hear, hear!" he shouted after her toast and chugged it down as well, it burned like hell, but it wasn't too bad. Not with the way he was taking his vodka right now anyway. He set the glass down, on a coaster of course, and he made some smacking noises with his lips as he licked them as well. Oliver looked back at Ivy, and he smiled, tossing an arm around her shoulder he nodded. "Hellz to the yeah, I've always been your stalker. Ya can count on me," he giggled a little and kissed her cheek before sitting back down on his seat, ordering some water and another Black Magic. "That was payback by the way, for kissing my cheek earlier." he winked.

Ivy laughed. Oliver made it so easy to be around him. Even if he acted like a gay immature brother... and he was allowed to immature, at his age, the age difference just always caught her by surprise. She never expected it. "Payback?" She repeated after his lips touched her cheek, the spot tingling lightly the harder she tried to ignore it.
"I wasn't aware me kissing your cheek was something that required payback, I thought I was in the top ten." She teased lightly ordering a water just to make sure she didn't get off her ass drunk, she couldn't afford to do that anymore. Ivy ran a hand through her golden hair and looked at him.
"Stalker makes you sound bad, and I like having you around."
