The puffs of breath rose, shadowing her face only to be illuminated by the moonlight. Click A flame rose from the purple light in the grasp of Ava's creamy chocolate colored skin. Her eyes just watched tiny wisps flick off the top of the flame before she lit her cigarette and took a long drag before letting the end depart from her lips. Slowly she blew out, her eyes closing for a mere moment. The city was always a new place at night and she was spending it outside Stella's Night Club, the pounding music vibrating the ground. People strolled in and out, the ones coming out a bit more tipsy than they came in, but nonetheless, she would be joining the rest of them soon enough.
She flicked her hair to the side, her red bangs still shading her eyes a deeper color. She pushed off of the wall she had been leaning against, finding the door and pushing it open the sound followed with a few clicks of her heals. She scanned the room for a short second a small, mischievous smile on her lips as she pushed forward towards the center of the room that consisted of a bar. "Vodka." She ordered, not even bothering to look at the bartender. She knew she had an attitude and she was not scared of showing it, not even bothered by the opinions of the people she approached. Only those who truly knew her and proved to be somebodies were the ones she let lose around.
She leaned casually against the bar, taking her sweatshirt off revealing a blood red halter top that cut across to show a decent amount of cleavage, but not enough for her to be considered a slut. When the bartender returned, she brought the vodka to her lips, taking in a mouthful, the liquid harsh but addicting in its taste. And for a moment, she wished someone was here with her that she knew, but she knew fair enough that if she did not recognize someone here, she would find some new guy to traumatize for a few hours.

Carter didn't like dance clubs much, but more girls hung out there than at the bars. And he wouldn't have the Tigers knowing he was queer... well, bi anyway. So he'd gone to the club that night and sat at the end of the bar, pounding back beers and a few shots with select beauties. But Carter wasn't really having fun, not yet.
He had gotten to make out a bit with some women, but what he really wanted was a fight. Muscles against muscle. Yelling and shouting and rips of flesh and breaking glass. That would satisfy him. As a Hitter, he had fought many in this room now, as they struggled to prove themselves worthy. His job was his passion. Nothing made him feel alive and in control like winning a fight.
"Least you were good for something pops," he muttered tossing back a shot of whisky.

Ava sighed and tipped the glass to her lips and knocked the vodka down, before she let the glass clank to the counter. She asked for another and looked over across the way and noticed someone she thought to be, Carter Hayes, one of the hitters of her gang. She smiled observing him for a long moment, seeing how bored he was. She grabbed the next glass and made her way around the bar, before some stupid bitch bumped shoulders with her and she growled out, "Watch it." She moved forward towards him, ignoring the reaction of the woman.
She was not one to really get into violence, but much more just liked to piss people off and get a good laugh out of it. But in case anyone did attack her, they had another thing coming because she learned how to defend herself when she was younger, along with the fact that she had a few knives on her. She pushed her long hair over her shoulders, revealing more of her chocolate colored skin. She loved looking completely sexy sometimes and even though some would consider what she is wearing simple, that was enough for her.
She crept up behind him and slowly leaned in to his ear, her fingers gently coming to rest on his shoulders. "What's a sexy thing like you doing in a dancing bar?" The words came out huskily as she smirked as she watched him for a moment before leaning up, waiting for him to react.

Carter smelled her essence, her perfume, her liquor before she even reached him, mouth at his ear. The voice is what he recognized though, a runner... what was her name.... Ava! That was it. Carter just let out a little grunt and took a swig of his current beer. "Its where the sluts come. I don't need any strings." He said. Women who didn't mind a drunk one night deal came here, girls who went to bars were underage or too tough to bother with usually. Though, more brawls happened there. It was a trade off, sex or fights, and Carter was beginning to think he chose the wrong one for the night.
Carter rolled back his shoulders briskly, brushing her fingertips off of him. She could sit beside him, chat with him, flirt with him, he didn't much care. It was just him and the booze now, and either a floozy or a fist. He wasn't sober enough to play mind games with a real catch of a woman. Though, he doubted Ava was such a thing.

Ava rolled her eyes slightly knowing that she was not his biggest friend of the bunch, but a gang was a family, at least that's what it came across to be. She sat next to him and downed the next drink, the alcohol not effecting her much yet. "This doesn't seem like your scene is my point." She muttered and cleared her throat, watching him for a moment wondering why he was so angry all of the time, but she really could not say anything different because half of the time it seemed like she was about to hit someone. She did not exactly come across as the most loving and open person.
"Is something wrong?" She finally spit the question out because he seemed more tense than normal and a bit unlike himself. Ava did care about those in the gang, even though most of the time she was expressionless or just seemed very cold.

"Its not my kinda place," Carter agreed, glancing over at her. She was pretty enough, but she wasn't his type. Too sharp. He liked them dumb and easy, or into rough sex. Granted, probably the only type of woman that could turn him around would have to be a sweetheart who could put up with him but he couldn't put up with that....
He shrugged. "Nothing is worse than usual." Everyday when he had to fight some wannabe tiger, he took out all his anger, the years of rage against his family. His father for beating him, his mother from leaving him. Carter didn't want to be a killer, or a man with simply knuckles or something, but he couldn't help it. He grew up learning how to defend, and that the best defense was a good offense. His father had practically groomed him to be a Tiger hitter.

Ava studied him for a long moment, always having a certain curiosity about him, but not in the sense of interest in a relationship. She knew of his anger issues, or had heard the rumors that were ironically the truth. He just also did not have that type of personality, but he was a member of her family. Speaking of which, the gang was her only family and therefore she had respect and openness for every member.
“Mmm, you just seem less like yourself today. But where has everyone been? We haven’t really met up lately.” She rattled off the words as though she had said them a thousand times. She was trying to make conversation and this only happened when the other person did not seem really interested or was just altogether very boring. She wished he was in a more ecstatic mood tonight, but she could understand how depressing or angering this world could be. She lost her parents at a young age and she is still a bit mad and upset inside. But mostly she tries to suppress those broken feelings and words.

Carter shrugged. Kaz hadn't called a gang meeting in a while, but he just figured she had her reasons. It wasn't good to question your leader, especially here. he heard the Snakes were more lenient, but in the Tigers, there was no freedom of speech when it came to the leader and the Snakes. "I'm sure Kaz has her reasons."
Carter put the bottle to his lips and took a swig, gulping the liquid to fill the space where he could have put more empty words. "I wonder what the recruiters are up too, we haven't had a new member in a while..." Carter would have known, he would have fought them.

"Yeah." Ava spoke softly, her eyes scanning the group of people having a subtle instinct there would be trouble soon enough. She just masked that feeling and downed her drink in one gulp, her eyes seeming as they would roll into the back of her head. Her foot tapped on the ring of the stool she sat on. Ava was known by the Snakes, known for her cleverness and deceitfulness. She caused trouble for them and it never failed to bring a smirk to her lips.
"Maybe Kaz has told them to pull back a little. She's training a few newbys..." She muttered, considering ordering another drink before she spotted something. Two men in particular that looked familiar and they were watching them both. "Carter, I think we need to leave." She spoke, her voice low, yet rigid, her eyes lingering on the splitting men and finally she knew, they were members of the Snakes. She had seen them before and she began moving, heading towards the exit in the back. But one of the men stepped in front of her.
Where do you think you are going? The voice of one of the men seemed to be deeper and obviously intending upon getting revenge. Her eyes connected with his in a calm stance, "You can either leave, or we can force you out." She spoke threateningly, but the man only laughed at her statement along with coming to rest a hand on her shoulder and she pushed his hand off, obviously pissed already and took a step back, and arms wrapped around her. You don't honestly think we come alone, do you?

Carter watched her get up and meet with the two men. They had to be Snakes, Tigers didn't really start trouble with their own kind. What were they doing here? They had no business. He swigged the rest of his beer and went to Ava's side because, well, she looked like she needed him. No way she could take them both on anyway.
Carter went over and cracked his knuckles once, glancing at the interloping Snakes. "Must think you're tough to be in our turf." he said, his voice low and cool. "But you ain't, you're just dumb. So why don't you leave before something starts." Carter wouldn't suggest that again. He was itching for his fists to make contact with someone.

Carter finally had stepped up and Ava found it amazing how intimidating he could seem, but these guys didn’t seem to be scared by a simple threat and cracking of the knuckles. She had a respect for him, but it was one that was shared, because the Tigers weren’t afraid to stand up for each other. They stood by each other as a family and would not give up on each other. If they had to run, they did so together, if they had to fought, they fought together.
And the idiot that still held on to her only gripped her arms tighter. And the other guy spoke words that seemed barely audible but what she made out to be, Fuck off bitch. She suddenly nailed the guy in the stomach with her elbow as hard as she could, getting one wrist free and turning to knee him in the groan. “Better learn how to treat a lady, asshole.” She muttered to him.

Carter let out a snort at the Snakes expense and then chuckled lightly at Ava's response. The girl had guts. But most Tiger ones did. Snake girls were just sluts most of the time. Not worth the trouble or the time. Good thing was, they would never call you in the morning. He lumbered a few steps closer and landed a punch square in the second guys face. he was pretty sure he heard a few teeth snap.
"You're done here gentlemen." he said, sarcasm dripping from his voice, arms crossed over his colossal chest. "Like I said, its time for you to leave, before I break your legs."

Ava stepped over the guy who she had caused to go to the ground and headed towards the exit. She loved being able to hurt a guy, although he didn't really put up that much of a fight. "Come on." She beckoned to Carter, "I think those idiots get the picture." She laughed a bit at her words and just moved down the dark alley. Ava was not really a girl to mess with because she was tough and she knew her shit and how to defend herself. People who messed with her didn't get to for long, although if Carter had not stepped in, she didn't know if she could have lasted only because they were two big guys.
Her boots clicked softly on the pavement as she slipped a cigarette out and lit it. She took a deep breath in and slowly let out a big puff of smoke. "I wonder why they would be so stupid as to wander in a bar and decide to just attack us on our turf. So stupid."

Carter followed her out, even though the Snakes were the ones who needed to leave. This was Tiger turf, they had every right to be here. But when he saw the puff of smoke, he decided a smoke break was a reasonable excuse to be outside. He didn't really smoke but he felt like it. "Hit me up?" he requested, holding out a hand for a cigarette.
The Snakes were probably getting their bearings back and if they didn't have the sense to get lost, Carter would take them out. easy as that. they didn't stand a chance.

Ava smiled as she handed him a cigarette and her lighter, a sense of amusement and contentment in the air, at least for her there was. She loved showing the Snakes who the boss was, especially in moments like these, but they had been stupid so it serves them right. "They were so stupid." She muttered to him and smirked a bit.
Suddenly she heard a gun shoot off and pass her as she flinched to cover her head and then took off in a run. "Evidently they brought more than just their fists though." She cut a corner and went all tense.
