The air was chilly tonight, he hated the cold it made him stiff and out of focus. He needed to get away from things but he couldn’t just leave, he had to many responsibilities and his loyalty to his leader was too strong. He couldn’t abandon her and he couldn’t abandon his gang. He wished he could be more like Kaz. She didn’t take much time to think about things, she didn’t worry herself about trivial bull shit. Digging his hands into his jacket pocket. He didn’t even know where he was going his mind was swimming with thoughts. It wasn’t until it happened did he react.
While he was thinking away, not paying attention to what was going on around him he had stumbled past a group of Snakes that were brave enough of come onto Tiger Territory. Taking advantage at his mindless state they followed him for a little while before deciding that it would be fun to jump him from behind. Kai didn’t even hear them behind him. Suddenly there was a sharp stabbing pain in the back of his head. He stumbled forward pulling his hands out of his pockets and braced himself against the nearest wall. It take long for the thoughts to disappear and be replaced by killer instinct. He threw himself around to see who had attacked him.
He didn’t recognise them but he figured they could only be members of the Snakes he wouldn’t be attacked on his own turf by his own people. Filled with nothing but pure rage he attacked landing punches and elbows, blood spraying the pavement. His knuckles were busted and the faces of his enemies unrecognisable. Feeling as though he had won the fight he got cocky and let down his guard. It was a mistake because a sneaky little fucker came around and smashed him in the face. He felt his lip split and warm blood start trickling down his chin. Growling with anger he swung around on his opponent only to find him running away. Bloody Coward. Filled with angry he started walking away, towards the only place he could think of.
Coming to his destination he walked up the driveway and stopped at the front door. He was so angry and couldn’t even wipe the blood from his face. His lip should have been hurting but be couldn’t feel it. Ringing the door bell of Kaz’s house he waited for it to be answered. Even though he has been told many times he didn’t need to knock or ring the bell he still did it. He needed to tell her about what had happened tonight. Snakes freely walking around Tiger territory might be of interest to her. Words: 453 Notes: Thought this might stir some drama Tag: Kaz

Kaz put her keys down on the counter top of her kitchen as she walked into her house. Duke and Riley were sitting on her couch unmoved by her return to the house. Her eyes closed as she leaned on her counter, just enjoying the sound of no one calling her name for a few moments, she could hear her phone going off in the pocket of the jacket she'd discarded on her couch she didn't move to go answer it. She loved the Tigers, she loved them all, they were her pack, who she trusted and worked with, who she lead, but somedays, somedays she just wanted to turn off her phone, sit in her bed all day, and cry about all the stress from the job, she didn't want to be in charge.
Like he could sense it, Duke walked into the kitchen and started to press against her leg, she didn't respond for another moment, before touching his head, and petting him. "Thanks duke," she kissed the top of her great dane's head, he was a sweet dog, he always seemed to know when she needed to be around him, and just have the support of someone else. She snapped out of it after a minute, and heated up something to eat quickly, before changing from her jeans and halter with orange jacket into some black shorts and a gray tank top, she didn't always need to have on orange.
Kaz stepped into her living room, and turned on her stero, after being surrounded by people all day, all the time who wanted her to tell them what she wanted them to do, or telling her things she needed to know. The silence was sort of nice, but she wasn't someone who liked silence to much, she put on some classic rock, nothing to hard, but nice enough that she could run on her tredmile to it. Kaz turned on the machine, and started to run, closing her eyes she ran as fast as she could, for as long as she could. She thought about things as she ran, somedays when she ran she imagined she was really running away, and if she just ran fast enough, no one could catch her. Her shoulder was still sore from the fight and her knuckles were throbbing under the bandage, she'd have to watch it, or she'd rip it again.
"Kai?" it sounded like a question, she didn't think they were supposed to meet him tonight, then she looked him over this wasn't a romantic call she could tell by his face. He'd been in a fight, she crossed his arms, he hadn't been at the meeting tonight she'd have seen him if he fought there, so who'd jumped him? Her eyebrows came together and she frowned stepping back so he could come inside to her house. "Snakes." she said looking at him, she touched his hand and moved him inside of her house. Duke and Riley looked at Kai, Duke poked his hand with his head, trying to get Kai's attention. "Sit." she pointed at her couch there was no sound for questioning in her voice, as she walked into her kitchen and grabbing a wash cloth she wetted it and walked back to him, sitting down next to him as she looked him over. "You don't look to bad," she said relaxing a little bit, and going back from Leader to girlfriend. It was always hard with them, where she was his boss and he was someone she told what to do, she tried not to when they were together, but sometimes it came out.

Kai waited outside the door, he was so angry right now, he felt as though he could smash his fist straight through the front door. How dare they come onto Tiger turf and do that. Did they not think they would come after them? Well they were wrong, Kai wasn’t going to let this go he was going to rip the snakes apart. At this point in time he didn’t even care if Kaz had any objections to his point of view. But don’t worry it wouldn’t last he just needed to calm down, get cleaned up and he needed a cigarette. Finally she opened the door and she was sweaty and she was a little surprised to see him. Instantly Kai thought something was going on, like she had another man here, but he tried to push his jealously away.
He didn’t say anything to Kaz, he just let her look him over. He could see that she was a little confused at first but she was a smart girl, it didn’t take her long to figure out what had happened to him. He gave a small nod as she guessed right. He stepped into the house as she took hold of his hand and lead inside. He turned around to speak but he was distracted by a wet nose on his hand. He looked down and smiled but winced at the pain in his lip. He was now finally feeling pain from his split lip. He gave Duke a pet on the head before Kaz sent him back to the couch. Kaz walked off towards the kitchen and he followed her, giving Riley a quick pet before disappearing into the kitchen after his girlfriend. He sat down at the kitchen bench.
Being around Kaz always made him relax. Just being in the kitchen with her made him not feel as angry as he was before he came inside. He watched her as she wet the wash cloth and walked over to sit by him. Kai smirked as she told him that he didn’t look that bad. “Yeah that’s because I didn’t let the little fuckers get the chance” he said finally reaching up and wiping the fresh trickle of blood that rolled down him chin. He wiped the blood from his hand and placed his hand on her leg her hot soft skin tingling his dry calloused hand. He loved touching her, he loved being close to her. He understood his position in the gang and he understood her position in the gang. He knew how to act around her in front of the other gang members but when he was alone with her in her home, he could touch her and treat her like a girlfriend instead of a boss, right? She carried herself into the kitchen her thoughts all going around and around thinking about who would do this to Kai. Who could catch him off his gaurd enough to land a punch on him. Kai wasn't her second just because he was her boyfriend, he was on the firecest fighters she'd ever known, and seeing him hurt always shook her up a little bit. It looked like it was only a few cuts and brusies right now, but even that didn't make her happy, she ran the water in her sink and grabbed a rag, getting it wet with cold water and ringing it out so it wasn't dripping, she closed her eyes and tried to not shake, about seeing Kai hurt, she calmed down before coming back to Kai.
She sat down next to him, and rolled her eyes at what he was saying, if he was anyone else she'd tease him about not being as tough as he seemed, and to stop trying to be macho, but it was Kai, and she knew he could take care of himself. "Just shut up and let me clean you up," she said with a small smile as she touched the rag to his face, wiping away some of the blood, his split lip was pretty nasty, but other than that nothing to big. "Looks like it's just your lip," her shoulders relaxed a little bit as she said that, she felt better once she knew it wasn't anything to bad.
His hand on her leg was a little bit of a shock. When they were out running the streets together, she didn't allow that, didn't let him touch her or let anyone know how close the two actually were, scared someone would target him to get to her if they knew, but when they were at her place, they could leave work at the door and be together, she could be touched, she didn't have to be Kaz at her house, she wasn't the leader who was untouchable here, she stroked his cheek, before her eyebrows came together as it dawned on her. "Where were you?" she asked, where had he been jumped? "You didn't cross the line did you?" only messangers were allowed that, and she didn't need people seeing him crossing the line and thinking it was okay, her heart started to pound had he been to see Ivy? They were old friends, before they hooked up, but it'd been a long fight to get Kai, did he even know Ivy was back? Or that she was the leader of the Snakes now? Would he care, fear pumped threw her heart, she closed her eyes, and touched his shoulder trying not to grab him to hard, the thought of loosing him, she looked into his eyes, and then got up from the table, "I'll get you an ice pack," she replied not saying anything else.

Kai smirked when she told him to be quiet, he did what he was told and shut his mouth. He didn’t do it because she was his superior he didn’t it because he respected her in more then one way and he knew that she was only doing it for his own good. He gritted his teeth as she touched the wet rag to his lip. Its not little it was too painful it was just annoying pain and he was annoyed with himself because he wasn’t paying enough attention in the first place, if he wasn’t so stupid and let his thoughts consume him he wouldn’t have been jumped in the first place. It was bad performance on his part. Once most of the blood was away she told him that it wasn’t very bad and that it was just his lip that was fucked up. The back of his head throbbed a little bit from where he had been hit first but he knew that it wasn’t bleeding probably just a bump, nothing to get worried about it. He didn’t say anything as he was enjoying having her look after him. It almost made him feel as though they were a normal couple dealing with normal things. But it feeling didn’t last very long, thoughts of knowing better flooded his mind again.
Once he had placed his hand on her leg he knew that she was shocked at first because it wasn’t very often that they got to touch each other at all, seeing that they were pretty much all the time around somebody else. It wasn’t very often that they were alone, but was glad thought to see that her shock didn’t last very long and that she was enjoying his touch just as much as he was. He felt his whole body relax as her hand came to gently stroke his cheek. He felt as though nothing could ruin this loving boyfriend and girlfriend moment but his thoughts weren’t long lived, when he saw her facial expression change and her questions followed. She asked him where he had been and if he had crossed the line. He hadn’t, that was the aggravating part of the whole situation. He was on his own tuff casually walking the street when he was jumped. “No I didn’t cross the line, it happened on our tuff. Jefferson Ave” he said frowning as her hand moved from his face to his shoulder. This gesture meant that she was annoyed and scared all at the same time. She was scared that he had purposely gone into Snake territory and started a fight. He hadn’t.
She then got up from the table and her hand left his shoulder and his hand left her leg, his arm falling back next to his side. He looked at the ground and frowned as she walked away to get him an ice pack. He felt like punching something, he was enjoying their non work related time together before this but now how could he expect to have that when he turned up to her house looking the way he did. “You do believe me, don’t you?” he asked not wanted her to think that he was lying to her. He would never lie to her, he loved her more then life itself and she was his leader he wouldn’t ever lie to her, he wasn’t a traitor or a snitch. He felt a fresh trickle of blood run down his chin, he wiped it away with his hand and wiped the blood on his jeans. He hated himself at the moment, as seemed like the only time he visited her was when he needed something or needed looking after. They had medics that could do that but he wanted her to look after him. He felt guilty for that, he shouldn’t have to wait til something happens to him before he came and visited her. What kind of boyfriend was he? Words: 664 Notes: None Tag: Kaz

Kaz pulled herself up slowly and moved without a rushed pace. Moving without rushing back and worth was a luxery she rarely had, she was always needed somewhere by someone, she always had to go quickly, always show she speed and strength so no one would question her and try to take her, it was dangerous for anyone to think she was weak even for a second, as she moved into the kitchen Riley circled around her, sensing all of the tense things inside of her while she looked opened her freezer and pulled out an ice pack. It was sad she thought as she looked around, she had a state of the art kitchen, yet she'd never used any of it other than her microwave. There had been Snakes on her territory, she didn't like that, didn't like that at all, she was going to have to deal with the tomorrow, it made her stomach turn in knots that she'd be dealing with that tomorrow she grabbed the ice pack.
Standing there another minute before she turned and looked back at him, "Kai," she looked him in the eye, she grabbed the ice pack and came closer to him, she stroked his cheek again looking at him, before she sat down next to him. It seemed impossible to her that she might not believe him, everything he'd ever told her was truth in her mind, she trusted everything he told her, it was why he was her second. "Of course I trust you," she whispered to him looking at him, getting close to him, she thought about it for a second, before acting. With Kai she'd learned a long time ago thinking was always bettwen then stopping and thinking about what she should do. She kissed his lips softly trying to not hurt his lip any more than it already was.
When she pulled away, and could taste the blood on her lips, still she staid close looking at him. "Your not just my second, because your my boyfriend," she smirked at him, looking at him. She was back to being a little bit cocky, she touched his face with the ice pack then, "Now put this on so you don't swell up,' she smirked a little bit. "I don't want to tell everyone tomorrow that you lost in a fight," she teased him a little bit staying close to him, she didn't move away from him this time, she liked staying close to him, she enjoyed being so close to him, she'd been away from him for so long it seemed, they were always together, but they were never really close, she couldn't be close until everyone was away, at her house there was no one else, only them right now, them and the dogs. "I missed you Kai," she said looking down for a second.

Kai looked up just as she said his name and their eyes connected. He could tell that she was troubled and confused and he felt as though he needed to protect her more then just a second. He needed to protect her as a boyfriend as well. He shouldn’t have come to her looking like this, this was the last thing she needed. He looked up at her as she came to be in front of him, he sighed as she touched his face again. He nodded as she reassured him that she trusts him. Deep down he knew that she did but it was always nice to here it once and a while. There was nothing worse then assuming the wrong thing. Before he knew it her lips were touching his, kissed her back ignoring the pain.
He opened his eyes as she pulled away from him, he was a little disappointed he wanted to keep kissing her. He looked at her as she looked at him and his bit the inside of his lip. She then said something that he knew was true for a very long time but it was a relief to hear it anyway. He had known when he was elected her second that it wasn’t just because they were together, she had picked him because he was strong and knew how to fight and most of all because she trusts him with her life. “I know” he whispered closing his eyes for a second. Which was a pretty stupid thing to do when you have a split lip and your girlfriend was holding an ice pack, you couldn’t see it coming.
He frowned and grumbled under his breath when she put the ice pack on his face but he let his eyes closed it was easier to deal with the icy burning he was feeling in the lower half of his face. She then said something that made his eyes fly open in shock. “I so did not lose that fight” he said with a smile, he knew she was only teasing him. But If anyone else tried to tell him that he had lost a fist fight when he knew he had won they would be on the floor out cold for the count. Kai was very proud about his winnings and no body tried to take them from him, except Kaz. He pulled the ice pack away from his face as she spoke again. “I always miss you” he said in response.
Like usual he didn’t think before he acted and before he knew it his hand had come up to rest on the back of Kaz’s head and his lips were connected with hers. The ice pack was forgotten on the counter top. Words: 462 Notes: None Tag: Kaz

Kaz smiled after the first kiss, she felt like she could breath better after they kissed. Her line of work, her gang, they were all about feelings, all about physical things, physical touch, yet for her being the leader of such a gang her physical was cut off most of the time. She looked down at her knuckles, touching them lightly, a bandage covered them since she'd busted them apart while in a fight earlier tonight, the fight had been the most she'd been touched in a while, and while it was aggressive
, when she was with Kai she remembered that she could be gentle with things like the kiss, of course the prankster in her won out the girl in her as she pushed the ice pack into his lip.
If Kaz was anywhere else with Kai like this, she'd be furious, she'd be yelling and upset and looking for those who had hurt him, with the claim it was just snakes, and not that they'd hurt her man though that was the real reason. She touched his face, and was just glad he was okay for a heartbeat, Kai was all she had left really of her childhood, Ivy was a gang leader, her parents didn't matter, Kai was the only person in the world who still knew her before Kaz came to be, and part of her loved him more for that. She laughed when he jumped up at him, and smirked, coming back from her thoughts, "Sure sure baby," she patted his shoulder, "What ever you say," she kissed his shoulder for reassurance, and to touch himself to him again.
Kaz felt the hand on the back of her head, it was a little cold because it'd touched the ice pack, but she didn't have time to question that as Kai's lips came to hers. It didn't take her even a second to kiss him back and wrap her arms around his middle, he eyes shut and she found herself in some rare moment of peace that she only seemed to be able to find when Kai was touching her. She smiled into the kiss, not willing to break it first when she had him touching her and finally noticing her.
"Kai, his name fell off her lips, but no other words followed, sometimes she just said his name, when she was close with him, like she was reminding herself who she was with, but it wasn't that, it was just that she was with him, she was finally alone with Kai. Her fingers traced over his skin softly, she didn't say anything, not because she was content though she was boarderline content, but because she didn't know what to say, what would should come out of her mouth, all she knew was that she wanted to stay close. Then Kaz did a very unKaz like jesture, and grabbed his hand, she laced their fingers together, like it would hold them together, but let go after staring at it for a moment, it felt wrong, the knots in her stomach felt wrong. She was always riddled with the fear of loosing Kai, of him dying, but now she was filled with another thought, of her loosing him to another woman, to Ivy. She opened her lips, but the words wouldn't come out, she stepped away from him, and shook her head, "Nevermind," she turned her back to him, she couldn't tell him that Ivy was in town, that she was here, and now the new leader, would he leave her for Ivy?

Kai looked down at her busted up knuckles and sighed. She was his leader and she was more then capable to look after herself and she probably flogged the crap out who every she was fighting, but seeing her hurt or even just a small bruise on her face or body, he would start to feel sick in the stomach, you think he would be used to it by now, but he had the feeling that it wasn’t something he was going to get over, ever. If a man saw his woman all cut up and sore he would be furious because it should have been him that was in the fight, fighting for her honour. Kaz never needed someone to fight for her. Kai wished that just once he could stand up for her and fight for her honour. If they were out of town in a place were no one knew them and they could be a normal couple and a guy came up and was rude to Kaz, Kai wouldn’t even have time to turn around and defend her she would be already flogging him around the head. He wanted to do that for her, just once.
Kai smirked at her tormenting words. He loved it when she joked around with him, if it had been anyone else that tried to tell him that he had lost the fight he would have smashed them in the face. But Kaz knew better, she knew that he had won the fight. This was how they could be all the time, no having to sneak around no pretending that they weren’t together. He loved Kaz so much and he just wanted to be with her all the time but it wouldn’t be appropriate for a leader to be in love with her second. It would spark whispered words among the gang about him only being picked because he was Kaz’s boyfriend. That would just be plan annoying. The gang would agree to anything she said but it wouldn’t be able to stop them from spinning stuff about him and possibly even her. It was just easier this way., easier for the gang but not for him. It got harder and harder everyday to restrain himself in front of the others, he had to be careful of what he called her it was either Kaz or McCoy, not baby or babe.
Thinking of nothing else but her and enjoying her lips on his he got lost in the kiss. He loved this he loved sharing moments like this with her. He felt her arms come up and rest around his body and he pulled her a little closer to him. He just wanted to hold her forever and never let her go. He didn’t ever want to stop kissing her, as he wasn’t sure when he was going to be able to do it again. It was rare for them to be able to just stand there in the kitchen without her phone going off or his phone even. Someone always wanted something of them, her more so then him, but it was peaceful not to have any interruptions. He was that lost in his thoughts of her he didn’t even noticed straight away that they weren’t kissing anymore, he wasn’t even sure who broke the kiss first, all he knew more was that he was hearing his name in his ear and he was opening his eyes to look at her.
Kai just watched her looked at everything her hair her face her eyes her fingers, everything. He smiled as he felt her fingers tracing his skin, if felt nice every inch of his body was relaxed now nothing was going to hurt him here in her kitchen there was no need to be tense here. He watched with a smile on his face was she took hold of his hand and entwined their fingers. This was a little strange to Kai as she had never done anything like that before. It was almost like her body was fully relaxed as well. Kai never thought it possible that Kaz could become fully relaxed, even in her sleep she was tense just in case someone or something tried to get her. It wasn’t long till she let go, he dropped his hand back down by his side and he just watched her, her facial expressions changed, he knew what the look was, she was about to tell him something he didn’t want to hear or she was giving him bad news about someone.
When her words never came and her back was turned on him, his first instinct was to get up of the stool and walk over to her. In doing that he placed one hand on her hip and the other on her shoulder and turned her around. Once he was in front of her again he placed both his hands on her hip and looked down at her, eye full of concern. “Whats wrong?” he whispered, he leant down and placed a kiss on her forehead. “Talk to me?” Words: 851 Notes: none Tag: Kaz

One second everything was good, and then Kai was sighing, and Kaz was scared this fragile moment was broken. She shoulders hurt, she turned and looking into his eyes, before looking down following the trail from his eyes to see what he was looking at. It only took a moment for her eyes to connect to her knuckles, she bit her lip, not saying anything about them or the fight that had happened. She rubbed her knuckle for a moment, thinking about the fight, it'd been nasty, she was glad Kai hadn't been there, she'd spit blood, her hair had been soaked with sweat, and she'd pounded on the guy like no other, he had at least three broken ribs. She shouldn't have taken the fight and she knew that when she went to the meeting, she was too hopped up, to angry to fight one of her own men, she looked at Kai, wishing she'd been with him instead, so she could have helped him, she knew he was big and strong and could take care of himself, but she didn't like him hurt. She had reaccuring nightmares someone would find out about them and then it would all be over. They would hurt him more than he could handle because he was with her, and he'd leave or she wouldn't be able to deal. She closed her eyes and leaned closer to him, no one else meant as much as Kai did to her, she couldn't loose him, just like she couldn't tell people about them.
Being with Kai was like, something, she couldn't choose the correct word for. But she could taste it on her tongue, it was warm and sweet, like home made caramel still hot and sticky. It was messy to, which fit them, they were messing, being with Kai made everything so messy. It made being around him outside so awkward, she couldn't say what she wanted to, she could run to his side when he was in a fight, she couldn't kiss him when he walked into the room, she couldn't touch him out there, and inside it was still so gaurded. Her heart pounded as she kept her fingers moving, afraid if she stopped moving she'd use her nails to dig into him. She wanted to claim him, and be his, she wanted to be with him all the time, but she knew it wasn't safe. Terrance had made it so clear when she'd taken over, that reationships weren't safe, they got the person you loved targetted, looking at Kai she couldn't do that to him. She could barely stand to have him walking the streets, when she just wanted him to stick around her, but she couldn't put him in danger. She closed her eyes and kissed him, close to crying, she didn't want to think about it anymore, Kai was here, she could finally be free with him, and she didn't want to think about it anymore. Even the thought of loosing him was painful.
Night time was the worst, to be alone for Kaz. To be apart from everyone else, to be away from Kai. She hated it, every sound tormented her, the nightmared taunted her, she felt like she was going to crawl out of her skin waiting for morning to be around Kai to feel the safety she felt with him. She didn't ever dream anything nice and plesant only being raped over and over everynight she saw her fear of not being strong enough, of never being strong enough to fully protect herself. Kissing Kai, changed her night though, she knew if she could dream, she'd dream about this, about touching him about being with him, she'd drown herself in thoughts of Kai, of the life they could lead if she wasn't who she was, if she wasn't the leader, they could walk away and just live in love with each other. She kissed him glad to have Kai in her arms, to be in his arms without any hesitation, without anything but this, them, kissing in her kitchen. The kiss could have lasted forever, and she wouldn't have cared so long as she was in his arms.
His hands were hot when they touched her and she had to close her eyes, and bite her tongue not to moan at just him touching her. At being close to him, she'd missed him more than she could say, but she staid not touching him back, scared if she started she'd never stop, she'd be with him always. Was that really so bad? That she wanted to curl into her bed, lay with him and forget everything that was about to come out of her mouth, when her eyes opened and she looked at Kai she knew she couldn't lie to him. Not to Kai, not to the only man she'd ever let touch her, who she loved, her heart was pounding. It was so strange for her to be afraid, but then when it came to Kai, she was always afraid she'd loose him. She touched his face, his cheek staring at him, looking him over. His eyes, his lips, his face, his arms, everything that made him up, that made him Kai that made him hers.
"Kai" she didn't know that she could really form the sentence. Making her free hand into a fist, she closed it over and over, trying to work up her nerve, her relaxation was gone. She leaned in and kissed him again, short this time, just a little one before it was all over. "The Snakes have a new leader." she admitted the source of all her stress. Knots in her stomach as she let go of him, and watched his face, what would he think when she told him? Would he think choosing her was a mistake, "It's Ivy," she couldn't wait any longer.

Kai waited for Kaz to talk, he could see that whatever she needed to say was troubling her and she was trying to figure out how to say it, so he didn’t rush her. He wanted her to be ready to say it. It must have been really bad news if she was hesitating on it. His heart started to race when she said his name, perhaps he didn’t want to know what was coming, maybe it was better that he didn’t know. Things started to roll around in his mind like, she was going to tell him that she didn’t want to be with him anymore and that she had been seeing someone else. The gut churning jealously that he knew all to well washed over him and he had to restrain himself from getting angry. He had to remember that she hadn’t said anything like that it might not even be that. But Kai being Kai couldn’t help it, when it came to Kaz his jealously sometimes took over him. He couldn’t bare the thought of her being with someone else or someone else even looking at her with lust or another man touching her even if it wasn’t in that kind of way.
He swallowed the lump in his throat as she reached up and kissed him again. Would she be kissing him if she was telling him that it was over between them? Yes, she would, giving him one last kiss so that it wasn’t as painful for him. He kissed her back and gritted his teeth when she pulled away. He could see that she was about to speak and he braced himself for the worst. What could be worse then her breaking up with him? He didn’t think it was possible. Her words spilled out of her mouth and washed over him and he felt as though a weigh has been lifted, she wasn’t breaking up with him and she hadn’t been seeing someone else. At first it didn’t click it wasn’t until she told him who the knew leader was did the shock of what she had said sink. “No… god damn it” he said and rubbed his forehead with his fingers. “Jesus, she bails on her friendship with you and now this” he said his was angry now. There was a small part of him that hoped that Ivy and Kaz could be friends again but now all of that was gone. Kai loved Kaz but he also loved Ivy too, she was his friend too. All possible getting back together as a trio of friends again was completely lost. “When did it happen?” he asked walking away and sitting on the couch, duke putting his head on Kai’s knee. She was impulsive, and headstrong, stubborn as an ox, and not one to use the filter of her brain before she said her thoughts out loud. She didn't think before she did, or said anything, she gave it as it was most of the time, all of the time actually. She was someone who say booksmarts as nothing and streetsmarts as everything, how you carried yourself meant more then what you knew. It was those traits that'd made her fit in so well with the Tigers, she wasn't into games, and mind tricks, she was just there, and people could deal with that. Looking at Kai, she didn't feel any of that though, she didn't feel an ounce of the confidence she normally carried with her like a second skin. There were knots in her stomach, if she bit her lip she might make it bleed without noticing, she was so nervous.
She hated it, hated this, feeling so weak, and nervous. It made her want to run, to train, to toughen herself up more until she didn't feel it anymore. Until nothing could make her feel weak, or make her stummble on her words, or make them twist inside her head. When she looked at Kai, she knew she would never be strong enough to not be nervous around him, he messed with her to much, he was under her skin. This was probably freaking him out a little bit. The words left her lips, and it was like she blacked out, she didn't even remember saying them, but Kai was talking, she was staring at him, wide eyed, and scared. Scared. She was never openly scared, but her mind was still racing, Kai would run off with Ivy she would be just a mistake, he would crush her. She felt like she was calming down, getting tired and ready to go to sleep, but really she was just shutting down her heart, her emotions as she tuned in to listen to the news.
Ivy had been her best friend, the girl she looked up to, the girl she told all her secrets and told everything to. Until they were older, until they both liked Kai and Ivy couldn't get over it, Kaz couldn't blmae her to see him with anyone else would have killed her to, but now Ivy was paying her back for every ounce of pain she'd ever felt about Kai choosing her, she was back. She looked down at her knuckle, that was why she'd fought tonight, the emotions all in her, she had to get rid of them, the anger, she'd already broken a chair, throwing it across the room, and screaming when she found out. She staid there, standing not moving thinking about how much it hurt too have Ivy back, how much things had changed, she stood there wondering how long until Kai was back with Ivy. She gritted her teeth, "Few days, a week at the most." she managed to say.
She moved couldn't stand to be in that spot any longer, she moved to the sink, and washed her hands with cold water, clearing her knuckle out thinking about the fight. 'So you being jumped was probably just the beginning of it," Ivy was smart, they both knew that, she was smart and she was quick, in a fight Kaz was quicker, coming up with a plan Ivy was more thoughtfull. It was going to be a hell of a while with the both of them leading. She turned off the water and dried her hands, "I'll need to tell everyone soon," they didn't know the history, but it could all be told so quickly.
Kaz turned around and faced him, her hands gripping the countertop, as it dug into her back as well. Something stable to hold onto, she looked at Kai. What could she say to him now? Kai didn't know Ivy loved him too, she sighed, and hung her head down letting her bangs fall in her eyes. "Ivy loves you Kai." she couldn't let him go out there and hear it from someone else. She looked at his face, nothing on her face, trying not to think about anything, just waiting to see what he would say. "I'm sorry." she said, she didn't want to be the one to tell him, but if Ivy told him, if she still did...she needed to be ready for this all to come apart at the seems.

A few days! Maybe a week! And he was only finding out now. Jesus if he had of known about all this he might have been a little more with it and a little less off with the fairies tonight she maybe he wouldn’t have been taken advantage of jumped. But oh no she decided to keep it from him. What was the point in being her second if she couldn’t even tell you things straight away when they happen, he had to find out in the weekly herald. He didn’t say anything cause he didn’t want to his words to be angered so he just stared at the ground trying to calm himself down, if he hadn’t of gotten himself all worked up before about he telling him that she was leaving him, his temper wouldn’t be so bad now. He was frustrated right now he didn’t know what he wasn’t going to do, he didn’t know if he could calm down without punching the crap out of something. A punching bag in front of him right now would be perfect, give it a few good slogged and he would be alright about, his temper was so bad lately, he really needed to see a doctor about it.
He nodded and mumbled something along the lines of Ivy being a bitch and she couldn’t even come herself and take him on. What did he ever do to her, except break a friendship and join the tigers and forget about her and not care about what happened to her. Well that was a pretty good reason to have him jumped but she could have gone about it a different way, like send word that she wished to have a battle, one of her men against him. The would have been the better thing to do, instead of the coward way. Sending her little goons to catch him off guard. Kaz then said that she would need to tell everyone, this made him feel a little better about only finding out about this now, at least he wasn’t the last person to know, she had kept it from everyone, not just him. “Send out a universal text to everyone and have them meet at Donny’s Warehouse, its about time we got everyone together” he said getting to his feet and walking over to Kaz in the kitchen, she looked sad. He just wanted to be able to protect her all the time as her boyfriend not as her second.
“Unless you have something better in mind” he said leaning against the fridge just looking at her, he hated seeing her like this, he know that look and it told him that she wasn’t done telling him about the bad news, there was more to the story then what she had already been told, great! He wasn’t sure if he could handle anymore bad news tonight. She looked as though she hadn’t even heard his suggestion about getting everyone together just before. He pushed himself off the fridge and walked over to her stopping before her and waited for her to talk again, he didn’t rush her, even thought he was hanging and the waiting to hear what she had to say was killing him. When she spoke her words, he frowned. He knew that Ivy once had a crush on him when they were kids but he had no idea that she actually loved him. “This just keeps getting better and better” he mumbled to himself. He really could have gone without knowing that little bit of information. It was Ivy’s loss, Kai wasn’t going to loose any sleep over it not when he had Kaz next to him.
He reached up and wrapped his arms around her shouldered and pulled her into his chest. “She has got nothing on you” he said kissing the top of her head. “I love you, Cassandra Paige McCoy” he said placing hims hand gently under her chin and lifting her head so he could see her face. He gave her a smile and lent down and pressed his lips to hers. The pain in his lip was soon forgotten as he lent down and gripped her around the back of the legs and lifted her up onto the countertop, his lips still locked with hers. He pulled her into him further wanting to be as close to her as possible without over stepping the line. He never forced her to do anything, it was always her word, if she didn’t want him to touch her he would stop and respect her wishes. He understood cause it was hard for her sometimes. He just wanted to put everything that had happened tonight behind him and just start fresh right now, with Kaz. He loved her and nothing was going to change that. This was a total train wreck. Tonight was a train wreck. Kai and Kaz were a train wreck. It seemed like they were always in mortal peril even in her own home, they were in trouble. She was in trouble, she could see it on Kai's face, could see it in the way his shoulders were getting tense, and he wasn't saying anything. Every moment that went by with nothing said, only worked on tightening the knots in her stomach. She felt like she couldn't breath, waiting for him to say something, for him to lash out at her, maybe part of her braced herself to be hit by him. She was strong, and solid, but Kai was her match physically, the only person she knew could keep up with her, if it came down to a fight, there would be no clear winner. She wanted to say something, part of her told her she shouldn't have to though, that things should be fine, and she should be able to say whatever she wanted to say. She was the leader of the tigers, and she shouldn't be reporting to her second, when she looked at Kai though, he wasn't her second, not inside of these walls, in these walls he was the person who made her heart pound, and right now the person she was more afraid of then anything. She wanted to throw herself at the door and block him from even thinking about moving, "I had to make sure it was really her." she finally said to break the silence. Confirmation hadn't come today, but a few days, three tops, and she'd been thinking on all of this.
She'd been sitting on a world full of anger at Ivy for putting her in this position, for the sadness, because it was like Ivy had truly died to her as a friend now, and finally the fear that Kai would be the next funeral inside of her. She needed to think, but she couldn't do it right now. She needed a distraction, and as her default her body went physical with the distraction when Kai was in front of her. She gripped her hands to the counter, pressing into the edge till she could feel it leaving an indent in her palms. It cleared her head, pain cleared her mind from thinking. She didn't know how she'd deal with it, she didn't know how she'd tell everyone. Kai was in front of her at her house, and they were talking about the gang, business they could be together and he wanted to talk about that. "I'll rally the troops in the morning," tell all the messengers, new orders, tighter shifts with taggers, and of course she was going to have some hitters now move together. She sighed, she didn't want to think about it, it made all the stress in her shoulders tighten up, guess there was no such thing as leaving her job at the door anymore.
She blinked when her touched her, the pain had cleared her head, but she was still not thinking about what she needed too. It was after the accident that she'd thrown away her real name and become Kaz, at first to hide her name from Terrance, and then because she was known by is and it was stronger. There was something unsaid between them about her nickname, Kai hadn't called her her name in a long. When he did it sent a shiver down her spine, ...Kai she whispered. He loved her. Butterflys in her stomach were unleashed, like some secret she'd thought she'd known for years, but finally saying it out loud made it real, he loved her, and she loved him. She got on the counter without thinking, just touching him, feeling him, and not holding herself back, as she kissed him back, nearly crying she was so glad he wasn't leaving her, she wrapped her arms around him too, she almost couldn't he was so big, but she managed. Holding onto him, she felt like never letting go, and she didn't. The kiss broke but she staid close, whispering his name again "Kai" she kissed his neck.
"I was scared," she admitted to him, hiding her head in his neck, and closing her eyes she smelled him, tried to think of nothing but him. "I thought you'd think I was a mistake and run for Ivy," the thought of loosing her gripped her insides once more, like a beast let out of a cage, that was set on destroying her, she held onto him more, kissing him again on his jaw. He was her man, no matter what happened with the rest of them the Snakes, the Tigers, the World, nothing was going to take her away from him if she could stop it, and hell and high water couldn't catch her if she was determined enough. "I love you Kai. I always have." she came back and kissed him, happy to feel him and have him be hers. Her hand came up and stroked his face, the back of his neck, she ran her nails up and down, just touching him, making sure she could feel him, and make sure there was a connection between them.
Why was it she was so okay with them being like this when they were here and not out there. She looked at him, and bit her lip thinking about the words she would use to say this. What ifs, she realized. She'd been wasting time thinking about what ifs, if she told everyone she could be with him more, she could touch him in public, but she didn't know. She kissed him, trying to clear her thoughts but he just fogged them up more. "What if," she paused looking at him. "If only, If only the wood pecker sighs, 'The bark on the trees was as soft as the skies' while the wolf waits before hungry and lonely crying to the moon. If only if only." What only, What if, they were the same question, she wasn't going to live her life wondering, no regrets right. She kissed him, "We told people about us?" she asked him. Ivy was back, she didn't want Ivy to think she had a chance at stealing Kai without a fight, she looked at Kai, he was her world, and she'd stay with him, or go down fighting.

Kai could understand that she had to make sure it was her before jumping to conclusions. There might have been no reason for him to get angry, but in the end it was Ivy and he did get angry but he had to be calm for Kaz, it wasn’t her fault and it wasn’t right to get angry at her. He had to remember that she did the things she did to protect him and she only wanted the best for him. The best thing for him right now was to calm down and figure out what the next move was. Kai knew that Kaz loved him but hearing her say it always made his heart pound. He lent down and gave her a kiss and hugged her close to him. He knew that whatever she did next would be the best thing for the gang and everyone would follow her into anything.
“Baby, don’t think like that, I love you not her, I would never leave you, especially not for her” he said feeling sad that she would think that about him, he would never leave her, she was his life.
Kaz then asked him what if.. He stayed silent and waited for her to finish what she had started to say. When she finally said what she wanted to his heart stopped in his chest and a lump formed in his throat. What it everyone did know about them? There was a good side to that and also a bad side to it. He would be able to touch her and kiss her in public he would be able to see her more and tell her that he loved her more, but if anyone outside of the gang was to find out it might cause drama’s and hits might be put of on him, just so the snakes can see her hurting. He wanted everyone to know that they were together, just so people knew not to try anything on Kaz and make him jealous all the time.
“I think it would be a good idea” he said reaching up and rubbing her cheek with his thumb. He then lent in and kissed her. He wanted her, it had been so long since he actually got to touch her and it was sending him into a frenzy.
