Stress is like a drug, you just need to ditch it. But it just seems to come back always pulling at the back of your mind. He was feeling a little stress now he just wanted to ditch it. He knew the only way to leave it behind was to get a few hits against the punching bag. He always felt better when he trained. Even though the place was run down and nobody really ever went there anymore, he didn’t care. It was a perfect environment for him. Making his way into the gym he went straight to the boxing bag. He slipped off his jacket and lifted his shirt off and strapped his hands. Taking a deep breath he stepped up to the bag.
After an hour of constant flogging the bag he was hot and sweating. Stepping back from the bag he sat down on the edge of the grungy boxing ring and wiped the sweat from his forehead. His mind was clear all he wanted to do now was take part in a fight against another person. Beating on the bag always done that to him. It might clear his mind but it made him want to beat the crap out of someone, after a while the bag just wasn’t satisfying. He was still sweating even though he wasn’t even doing anything. Grunting to himself he got to his feet again and started beating the bag. Words: 240 Notes: Sorry its short Tag: Ava

Ava had come to release some stress and she knew not many people came here, but that didn't stop her. She had a jogging bra on along with shorts and tennis shoes. There was always a trainer there to fight with and help you learn how to fight, but she knew, she just needed to test herself again. Her hands were wrapped and she and the trainer entered a private room where the door was left open and the window could clearly be seen through. She waited to fight someone for a long time because she was one of the best, even though she was only a mere messenger. She learned from the best of the best and that was the end of the story.
They began as the trainer who was twice her size came at her and she dodged him and punched in the side hard, turning swiftly on her feet and kicking him in the side with a grunt. The trainer seemed to travel a few feet before turning and running at her, but this time he managed to grab her around the waist so she faced the opposite directions and she stomped on his foot, elbowing him and pushing herself out from his arms to kick back. She panted already and smirked as she had so far gone through the steps like a pro.
This time the trainer would try something more difficult though and he managed to punch her in the stomach as she grunted and he swept her legs from out under her as she fell on her butt, quickly sitting on top of her trapping her. She hissed back a breath as she failed that time and he got up off her and they would try this again. It didn't not help that he was that much bigger than her, but she should have dodged his first attack. Again he came at her trying to punch but she moved, light on her feet and kicked his torso hard enough that he almost hit the wall. She smiled out of success.

Kai had been punching the bad and kicking it for hours. His arms were killing him. Finally he stopped and took a few steps back and just looked at the bad in front of him. His chest heaving up and down hard from his shortness of breath. Soon he gave a grunt and swung up as hard as he could with his right leg and connected with the bag. The kick was that strong it pulled the bag straight out of the roof and made it go flying across the room. Kai smirked when it hit the ground and made a thud. Turning his back on the broken back he walked towards the bathroom room, slowly un wrapping his hands and discarding the material. He entered the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror and turned the cold water on. He splashed his face and wet the back of his neck and he could feel his body starting to cool down. He looked up at himself in the mirror and frowned as he looked at the fresh one day old cut on his lip. Inside he was furious and felt the need to kill. The snakes had come on to their turf and jumped him, they weren’t going to get away with it.
Finally coming to his senses he turned away from the mirror and left the bathroom. He just wanted to go home now and have a shower relax a little bit before he had to watch over tonight’s fights and maybe even participate in one or two. He couldn’t remember for the life of him if Kaz was going to be there, he was sure she said she was but he just had this funny feeling he was wrong. Shrugging he picked up his shirt and put it back on and picked up his jacket and headed for the exit. But something caught with eye, movement. Then sound entered his ears and being nosey like he was he walked over towards the noise and peered into the room. He watched as young girl fought against another man and she was kicking his ass. He lent against the door frame and just watched it was very amusing, it was extraordinary how woman could protect themselves, how strong they could actually get. It was a massive turn on for him. He got a glimpse of her face and he recognised her to be Ava a runner for the tigers. Finally she had knocked the trainer out.
Impressed as he was he totally forgot about going home, he was more interested in finding more out about this girl. He knew of her but he had never really met her before. Why not now by the perfect time to met properly, he didn’t have to be anywhere for a few hours anyway. Slowly he raised his hands and start clapping slowly. “Very Impressive” he said lowering his hands out of the clap and folded his arms over his chest. He couldn’t help it, it was just something he did when he was around woman, women that weren’t his girl. He was really impressed at how Ava handled herself, he knew that almost all the woman in the gang new how to fight but only to an extent. She could probably beat him up in a fight. When she would be able to because he doesn’t believe in hitting woman she he would just let her win. He made that mistake a long time ago, he would never do it again. No matter how the woman was he couldn’t live with the guilt of hurting a woman. People might then that was a sign of weakness, but the thought hitting a woman was weak. Ava blinked just having been watching the trainer as he didn’t move and she winced for a moment before turning around. Her eyes came to a man and she knew who he was upon glance. Kai, the second in command, was a very well built and strong man. One of which she had never really met in the group, but here was the perfect moment. “Thank you.” She muttered and crossed her arms over her chest silently judging his silent composure. “It’s nice finally meeting you.” She smiled and spoke kindly. She had an urge to ask him to battle her, but she didn’t know how he would feel about that either. Some men were weird about fighting women only because they think they are too fragile or they would be too easy of a fight. But that wasn’t necessarily true because although men were stronger, women used their cunning ability to win their fights. And she, in particular, won most of her fights because she was tough and very smart.
She looked over at the unconscious trainer and laughed for a moment, “Looks like I got him pretty good for once. But we better help him.” She spoke and went over to him and supported him up against the wall, her muscles in her arms flexing a bit. She just looked at the trainer wondering if he was okay. She did have a heart regardless of what some other people thought about her. She just often got off on the wrong foot with people because they thought she was angry with them when just really she had an attitude, but her attitude is what she takes pride in. People leave her alone for the most part, but she isn’t perfect. There are a few things that give her pain, like the memories of her parents’ deaths and gun shots. All triggered pain for her and as much as she tried to hide it sometimes, she just could not and cannot.
She stood up slowly and turned to look at him. He was attractive, but she knew well enough that he was off limits because of Kaz. She would beat her face to a bloody pulp if anyone messed with her second. She knew that Kaz was stronger because Kaz was the one who mentored her, who made her strengthen in her fights. She was the one who brought her to her family and there was no going against that, no betraying her. “Kaz was looking for you by the way. We were watching the fights.” She whispered and remembered that night, how angry she was, how insulted she had gotten because Kaz wouldn’t challenge her to a fight, wouldn’t accept her challenge. She gritted her teeth as she still felt a bitter knot in her stomach churn a bit.

Kai waited for her to realise his presence, he looked her over and he knew that she was tough and be a tough competitor. Kai couldn’t and he wouldn’t fight a girl even if it was only in the name of training. He couldn’t bring himself to hurt a woman, even a woman as tough as Ava, he wouldn’t even fight Kaz and he knew that he would get him ass handed to him, he still couldn’t lay a hand on her. Kai smiled when she thanked him, he could tell that she knew who he was and he hoped that his presence didn’t intimidate her. “It nice to met you too Ava, I have heard many things about you” he said, it was true though, he had heard in along the grape vine that she was a strong fighter, he had always wanted to see her in action, just by watching her train was exciting, she really could fight. Seeing her in a really fight for you life would be something else. As he stood there he pictured Ava an Kaz fighting and it turned him on a little bit.
He quickly ditched the thoughts, he would recall them later. His eyes followed hers when she looked over to the trainer that she had just knocked senseless he couldn’t help but smile. He obviously had under estimated Ava, that was the biggest killer among the gangs under estimating your opponent. He chuckled to himself as he followed her further into the room, he watched her as she dragged the trainer and sat him up against the wall, turns out she didn’t need his help moving him after all. See there he went under estimating her strength, she didn’t look strong but she was. He had a feeling that she didn’t need his help hence the whole taking his time to stop next to her and the trainer. Kai got a little worried for a moment there he thought she had killed him but he then saw his chest moving and he relaxed.
She then told him that Kaz was looking for him and that they were at the fights, he should have been there but he had enough of the fights he just needed time away from the fights. Every time he goes he always says to himself that he was only to watch but in the end he always ends up participating. “Yeah I know, she has already blasted me for that” he said giving her a smile, he walked over to the sink on the opposite side of the room and wet a cloth. He then walked over to the trainer that was still out for the count and knelt down next to him. He wiped the wet cloth over his face and gave him a little slap on the cheek “Come on Champ, time to wake up” he said wrapping the cloth around the back of the trainers neck, just to cool him down a big. “You really did a number on him” he said hiding a chuckle. Ava heard those cliché words exit his mouth and just laughed softly to herself. She heard those words all the time, the fact that she knew how to fight and the fact she had a known attitude. There were a few others, but those were the two biggest of the bunch in which they were right. “Anything I should be concerned over? Sometimes the words that go around aren’t true, ya know?” She flashed a smile at him, her eyes following his muscles through his shirt and felt her heart thud for a moment. He had the most perfect and toned body that she desired to just touch him once. But she knew if she did that, she would lose what family she had left, the Tigers. Especially Kaz because she was like a sister to her and there would be no way Ava would ever hurt her like that. Falling out over a guy was so stupid and irrational. “But same to you, I’ve heard a bit about you.” She muttered as she smirked. “At least we have something in common.” She laughed a bit in amusement.
Ava watched as Kai tried to help the trainer and laughed at his comment about knocking him out really well. “Well, thank you. And haha I suppose that means I’m doing my job well.” She smirked a bit as she watched the trainer just sit motionless and just sighed softly. “So how are you and Kaz doing?” She asked knowing they were doing well because her and Kaz talked a lot. But as a runner, it was good to stay up to date with your leader on every aspect basically. Ava had to be involved in every member’s lives in some way or another because transferring information was a vital point to her job. She always seemed to do it very well and often if she had to go into Snake territory she burned them while completing her job. Most Snakes tried to fight her, but she either was able to slip away or fight her way out. That’s also a reason we had a second runner come with was because by yourself you were a lot more vulnerable.
Ava suddenly had an idea about what they could do to occupy their time. “Are you bored by the way? Because we could battle if you want to. But obviously we need to stop when we need to stop. You know the limits as well as I do.” She whispered as she looked at him with a bit of excitement in her tone. A real battle for once would be nice because Kaz told her no the last time because she might beat her face in. She was not afraid to fight against a guy who was twice her size because she knew how to have power and stealth behind her moves. She learned the best techniques and often used them to her full advantage. She wondered if Kai would be different than Kaz and actually give it a go.

Kai did know what she meant, people just didn’t care what they said about others and it was rather annoying when something gets back to you so mangled and out of proportion its not even funny. Although he hadn’t heard anything bad about so far but have they were still young and there were lot of people out there that loved to spin shit. “Nah nothing to worry about” he said in response and lent against the wall. He was starting to feel tired and worn out, but he couldn’t be he still had a crap load of things to do today before he called it a day. Many things on the list were set by Kaz but that’s what a good Second is for, dealing with the petty shit that took up to much of the leaders time. Besides he liked helping her out.
Kai smirked as she returned the comment about hearing things about him too. To be perfectly honest he didn’t really care as he has learnt to block out rumours and gossip. He had other things to occupy his mind with, especially now that the enemy has started conspiring. “Yes this is true” he said covering his mouth with the back of his hand as he yawned. He hated yawning, there was nothing worse then having no choice but to open your mouth up as wide as it would go and make a stupid little sound to go with it. He hated it more when he was with another person. It makes the atmosphere awkward and it usually made the other person yawn to, it was strange how it was contagious in a way.
Kai looked back down to the unconscious trainer on the floor and smirk, well she really knew what she was doing, he had to give her that. She was very skilled in the offensive side of things but he couldn’t help but wonder how she went with the defensive side. Anyone could just kick the shit out of someone but how to block a skilled kick or punch wasn’t as easy. It took a lot of practice. Her next question through him off a little. He wasn’t sure what she meant, surely she couldn’t mean how they were doing as a couple, as no one knew that they were together like that, unless Kaz has confided in Ava with the secret they were keeping. “Yeah, we are doing okay, she is just a good leader as I am a good second” he said, he had to be careful just in case.
Kai looked at the ground with her next question, he was growing a little bored just standing there watching the beaten trainer and fighting someone right now did sound like something he could use to blow some stream but he didn’t fight girls unless it was in the ring and it was for a good reason. He couldn’t actually bring himself to cause unnecessary pain to a woman. Not that he thought she was weak or anything it would just be the guilt he carried later that’s all. “Um, I don’t fight woman, unless its in the ring or I’m defending myself from death” he said looking up at her with a apologetic look on his face. He could see that she knew what she was doing and he could see that she was keen for a fight but he just couldn’t.
“But, you can show me what you got, we can call this a practice session” he said walking over to the arm pads and slipped them on the thick cushion covering his hands and forearms. There wasn’t anything worse then getting kicked in the forearm, it hurt for days. He walked over to her and held out the pads. “Come on don’t hold back” he said with a smirk, he was dying to see how hard her blows were. She had pretty strong looking arms and judging but how the trainer had come out of it all could only mean she packed a massive right hook and he wanted to feel it for himself without getting to damaged, Kaz needed him strong and unbeaten.

She spaced out for a long moment because their conversation just seemed to consist of small little details and responses. She had not realized but her eyes had fallen to his chest and she spaced out for a good long time before blinking back and blushed red. She just looked away towards the trainer acting as though she had not just done that. She had not really been staring at his chest, although he could definitely have taken it that way. But Ava was not like that, she was not a slut, she did not check out a guy or stare for long periods of time and move on from one to the next at the snap of a finger. She hated girls like that and wondered how they could ever be so stupid sometimes.
Ava grew bored as Kai seemed to be also and she did not blame him whatsoever because talking tended to get boring. Ava was the type to do something for the fun of it so she found occupying her time was more the case filled with activity rather than conversations. Although she had not been in the mood lately to hang out with anyone really only because she was going through the roughest time of year for her. She still wished her parents were around and could spend every moment with her, so that maybe she could call them when she wanted to talk or just randomly stop over. That’s what normal adults did, didn’t they? She honestly did not know because she lost that part of her life a long time ago.
Then when he offered to help train her she just laughed. “Are you sure? You might get hurt and we both wouldn’t want that.” She teased him a bit as he got all pumped up and she just gave him a mischievous grin before throwing her feet at him, turning around then and punching towards him. Her body always seemed to move in a fluid motion as though she was a natural at fighting. She was not necessarily just offensive though but most of the fights she encountered, she was in an offensive position, so she got to practice more in that sense. She wondered why he was so persistent on not fighting women. She did not necessarily want to argue him on that, she was just curious because there were dozens of reasons men avoided fighting women. But then you always got those cocky pricks who thought they could just get away with beating or raping a woman. In Ava’s book that was not allowed and she would not allow it to happen to her, not ever.
Her punches grew harder as her hits and kicks seemed to always just land in his hands. She finally just thrusted her fist towards him with a grunt that slid into his abdomen rather hard, before kicking in the same spot so she could send him back a few steps. But she did not know he would take these slip up attacks. But she hoped that in this case she would not hurt him and if she did, not too badly. Some guys when they battled her underestimated how hard her hits could come. She had strength in all of her body and knew how to focus it to her advantage.

Kai gritting his teeth as she sent blows into the pads on his hands. H=She was really strong, stronger then she thought, it was like his whole body shuddered with every hit he took. It made him smirk though as it was a good advantage for her, people wouldn’t be expecting much from her, then be shocked by her strength. He liked to see woman who were strong, it meant people couldn’t take advantage of them, especially males. There were men out there that thought they were king shit and could over power every woman they came a cross but it was woman like Ava that wouldn’t allow that to happen. He wouldn’t have to worry about ever having to step in and protect her if ever they were to be at the same place at the same time and some fool decided that they wanted to her hurt, he could just stand back and watch her dominate.
As he pictured her taking on a hot headed male he let his guard slip just slightly and one of her punches slipped past the pad and connected with his abdomen he grunt loudly as all the air was sucked out of him, he didn’t even had a second to regather his breath before she landed a kick against him in the same spot. The blow sent him backwards and another loud grunt left his lips. He bent over forward and took a couple of deep breaths trying to get his air back. He was extremely impressed with her abilities and he didn’t even care that he might have looked weak, stepping away from her to catch his breath. Finally he was able to breath again and he straightened and looked at her, “Far out Ava, that was decent” he said stabbing pains shooting all over his front. He gave her a smile and pulled the pads off his arms.
He wasn’t giving up, oh no. He had changed his mind about not wanting to fight her, the blows he received had sparked the need to fight in his brain and he no longer just wanted to stand there. When it came to fighting woman, he really punched or kicked them, it was more, blocking attacks he used on them, which was good for him cause they usually weren’t expecting that from them. He stepped forward and smirked. “Come on then” he said reading himself for her attacks. He could see that she wouldn’t hesitate to fight him.

As he bent over from the kick, she slowed down, “Are you alright?” But then as he came up she just smirked a bit at his complement. “Why thank you.” She couldn’t help but want to laugh a bit at his reaction because he was a strong guy and she honestly did not know how much it hurt to be taking the hits because well you can’t fight yourself. But she had faced from pretty strong punches and kicks from other woman that decided to challenge her. She did want to eventually help train some of the new gang members that were to come in, especially within the ring that the tigers had.
“Are you sure?” She said laughing at his urgency to keep going and then she stood, completely relaxed, smiling at him and then suddenly began punching, hitting his hands each time, this time it a bit harder to get past him. She grunted every few attempts wondering if he would fight back at some point. Her breath picked up this time as she got more into fighting with him and did a few combinations with her kicking and punching. She knew he would pick up on a lot of her techniques eventually, it was just a matter of him paying attention well enough.
“Will you actually fight me more than just with defense?” She asked backing away for a moment. “It will work out a lot better, trust me. If you honestly can’t, then don’t, but I’m ready for another challenge than just this.” She urged him hoping that he would give into her wishes. She needed another step forward which is why the trainer got knocked out so easily. And what would stop her from nearly doing the same thing to him? Nothing really…all it took was a lack of attention on their part or a lucky hit. That’s how battles were sometimes won. She had a tendency to be able to wear people out so they slowed down or she gave them a hard punch or kick that weakened them to the point that they could no longer win.
